Trying to answer the question of when to switch out AC30CCH

My recent purchase of a used AC30CCH was somewhat tired sounding, figured a preamp tube swap might liven things up

This version uses FM3 DynaCabs 1.09. Amp Modeling improvements based on the latest Axe-Fx III Firmware. NEW Amp Models: Brit JVM Crunch Green, Orange and Red models based on the Crunch channel of JVM410. PVH 6160 Block Clean. Deluxe Tweed Normal (Existing model renamed to “Deluxe Tweed Bright”). Improved power amp modeling. Improved preamp and power tube grid modeling. Improved frequency response across models. Refined multiple model parameters using new analysis techniques. Many amps now feel more responsive and “open.” Existing presets are updated automatically. Updated models to use new preamp bias and cathode-follower values, improving response. Improved JCM800 and Plexi models based on new insights. New “TRANSISTOR” Power Tube Type. This type is now the default for the Jazz 120 model. Existing presets automatically updated. Fixed a cap value in 5153 100W Red amp model. New Swedish Metal Drive pedal model based on a Boss™ HM-2 Heavy Metal. The 1S2473 diode from this model is also now available as a Diode Type for other models. Improved Chorus block including the following new models and updates. Japan CE-1 Chorus. Based on a Boss CE-1 in chorus mode. Japan CE-1 Vibrato. Based on a Boss CE-1 in vibrato mode. Japan CH-1. Based on a Boss CH-1. MX234. Based on an MXR M234 Analog Chorus. Small Copy. Based on an EXH Small Clone. Japan CE-2 Bass. Based on a Boss CE-2B. Vibrato. A generic vibrato effect. Rockguy: Based on the Rockman X-100 chorus. MX134 Stereo: Based on an MXR M134 Stereo Chorus. Remastered the Japan CE-2 model. Added new EQ controls to some chorus models. The Input Gate and Gate block now allow faster Attack times down to 0.1 ms. Note: Setting Attack and Release times too fast in any gate can cause distortion. Pitch tracking improvements: Increased high range to ~2500 Hz to allow better tracking of pinch harmonics etc. Improved low frequency shifting for , e.g. bass guitars. Reduced CPU usage in some blocks. Changed default values of Dual Head Tape type in Delay block to be a bit more musical. Reverb types are now grouped by shared prefixes—like “Spring” and “Plate”—making things easier to find. Added micro Delay controls to the Mixer block. These let you delay each signal by up to 64 samples for precise phase alignment and latency compensation in parallel routings. Note: Such extremely short delays (1 sample ≈ 0.02 ms), are NOT intended for audible echo effects. Plex Master Pitch now only controls pitch and not detune. Master Detune still only controls detune.
