The song was born in 1990, inspired by the Fairbrass brothers' gym, and was written by Richard, Fred and Manzoli. They even had to fund the demo themselves after several labels rejected it.
The single appeared in July 1991 and quickly became a phenomenon. In the UK it reached No.2, behind the unbeatable Bryan Adams, but the real bomb comes across the Atlantic: in February 1992 it reached No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
