Stuff happens. Bad things are going to occur, and it often won't be okay when it does. What we do when it's not okay is crucial to life.
On this "Day in the Life of a Chaplain" video, I talk about several moments I encountered on an on-call shift where I spoke with patients and families who were going through situations where it really wasn't okay. In this video, I talk about my education as a Chaplain Resident, what I recently learned about my family system, and how I talk to myself to help myself find calm in the midst of chaos.
In this video, I recount an encounter with a GSW victim and a conversation with a parent of a child on ECMO. I also talk about getting called back into the hospital to talk with another GSW family who requested my service.
My name is Bobby Fleck, and I am a Chaplain Resident. Join with me on an on-call shift at a Level One Regional Trauma Center to see what I encounter throughout the 24 hours that I am on-call as the Chaplain.
