Not having to concentrate that much was cool, even if it resulted in a couple of mistakes and me almost dropping my 7-string while attempting to store it

Quick FAQ:
Q: What did you use to record and create this video? A: I used a PRS SE Custom 24 recorded on REAPER through a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. The raw input was then processed using Neural DSP's plugin 'Archetype: Nolly'. Final mix and master was done on REAPER as well. Video was recorded using an iPhone 13 and edited on DaVinci Resolve 18
Q: Was this a single take? A: Yes
Q: How did you learn the album? A: Mainly from Live in Texas, with the support of some online tabs. I also rearranged some of it for solo guitar (e.g. Crawling)
Q: Will you cover other albums in the future? A: Maybe, leave your suggestions

Video was recorded using an iPhone 13 and edited on DaVinci Resolve 18.
Q: Was this recorded on one take? A: Three sittings, multiple takes. Even though I'm able to perform the whole thing in one take with almost the same accuracy as in this video, there were about 10 takes per sittings. This time, audio and video were recorded simultaneously, but I stopped recording whenever I made an unforgivable mistake and restarted the next take from there.
Q: How was the audio/video organized? Later, since I had three full album takes, I selected which one of the three instances (Prospect 1, Prospect 2, or The Black Mask) I liked better to make it into the final cut. While editing the video, I guided myself on which camera I should use based on which take I selected in REAPER, but I may have messed up one or two of them, sorry!
Q: Why didn't you do everything at once? A: As much as I'm able to play this over and over without messing up, I'm too much of a perfectionist and was never satisfied with a single 70-minute take. So rather than stressing out over this, I decided to take my time and deliver the best version I could.
Q: That makes it less impressive, don't you think? A: Maybe. Since I don't get paid to do this, I allow myself the freedom to record it in different takes. Do you think the original album was recorded in a single take?
Q: How did you convince Paul to participate in this video? A: I paid him. You can book a video from Paul on Cameo: cameo.com/paulbtbam
Q: How did you learn the album? A: Through Paul's Parallax 2 Tab Book. You can check his Instagram for the link to purchase that Tab Book, or even other Tab Books from him: instagram.com/paulbtbam However, the solo from Extremophile Elite looks different from the original/live performances, so I learned it through their Extremophile Elite video from the "Future Sequence: Live at the Fidelitorium" DVD
Q: Will you cover other albums in the future? A: If enough people want to see me do it, I will! All you have to do is suggest it to me :) Since it takes a lot of time and effort to produce a video like this, I'd really want to make sure people are looking forward to something like this. In any case, leave your suggestions!
Q: Do you have any original material? A: Yes, I do, but it's very limited. I plan to take it more seriously in the future.
Q: How old are you? Where are you from? How long have you been playing? A: I'm 26 years old, from Brazil, and I've been playing the guitar since I was 9 years old.

Feeling like a bittersweet farewell, I give you Glacial Storm 5.
It would seem that this decade-long winter is finally coming to an end, with the cold sun melting the last snow of the season. Everything has an end, and so does the winter.
I began working on this song back in 2020, before I even knew it was going to be the fifth installment of the Glacial Storm series. It all started with the intro melody, which randomly came to me on a 'cold winter morning' back in 2020, after a few months of isolation due to the pandemic. Being more in contact with Classical Music over the last few years, especially being inspired by Gustav Mahler's work, it was soon evident that it had some potential to become a huge piece. And then, the direction this song would take was finally defined a few weeks later when I was improvising on my keyboard and completely fucked up the Glacial Storm theme while warming up... but those mistakes are reproduced note-by-note when the melody comes up on the 'Chills' section at around 06:30. And then it clicked. What started as a solitary melody was actually going to be the opener for the next (and potentially last) Glacial Storm.
In my not so humble opinion, this song is beautifully orchestrated, evoking so many of the emotions I felt during the writing process, and ends with the bittersweet realization I had when finishing the song. Winter is almost over, and maybe it's time for me to cool down a little bit as well. While retaining the real drums element I used over the last few years, I also attempted to develop the orchestration part by using real samples from BBC Discovery, and it definitely helped me bring to life the vision I had for this piece. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, and that you have some fun going for high scores on this song.
A lot of work was put into charting as well. There are Expert charts for Guitar, Drums (4-Lane Pro) and Bass, each containing a Hard chart as well. Watch the Full Band preview on the following unlisted video: youtu.be/Z4plMirkvXE
I would like to thank Frif and Lean for playtesting the Expert chart a few weeks ago and suggesting some adjustments that contributed to making this chart more accessible and fun to play. According to both of them, it's still harder than Megalodon. For the Hard chart, I tried to keep it reachable to my skill level. I'm not a top player but I think I'm not a mediocre one too, so it seemed like a good idea for me to tailor the Hard chart to my skill level. As for the Drums, everything I programmed on Get Good Drums is there on the Expert chart, so it's incredibly difficult as well. I tried my best to program the drums to be as close as possible to what a real drummer could perform, and I think it works fine. Sure, there are some really intricate and difficult fills here and there, but I don't think it's anything unreal, really. For the hard chart, I simplified some of the fills and removed the double bass drum aspect of the original chart. Finally, both Bass charts (Expert and Hard) have the exact same amount and disposition of notes. However, the Expert chart is meant to have an 'All Strums' sort of approach, which definitely makes it more difficult to play, especially the orange wall which occurs twice throughout the song. At the end of the day, I was just trying to make it more challenging and less boring to play, as I want to see a Full Band FC of this song someday and I didn't want the Bass player to fall asleep during the grinds. The Hard chart will be a better choice if you're looking for a more 'traditional' approach.
I do believe I took some risks with the writing on this one, and I ultimately feel like it paid off. Glacial Storm 5 happened the way it was supposed to: completely natural, and without any pressure to continue the series. I have to say that my break from this game will probably extend to writing songs for it as well, and this feels like a good conclusion to my time being active in the community. Will there be another one? Never say never, but I don't feel like there will. If it ever does happen, it will have to be as natural as this one, and that means it would be years from now. Don't count on it, though. But I think this one will keep you all busy for a very long time.
And I think that's about it. 2021 was great and I had a lot of fun for sure, but it's time for me to move on, at least for now. This song is very important to me and I think it's the perfect end to my contributions to the community. Thank you for having me, and I'll see you around.

I was supposed to wait until the album was finished, which could be next year, or never. Since I had this particular song mixed and charted, I figured I should put it out there before I throw this into the trash like so many projects before. Hopefully the full 1-hour piece will be finished someday.
This is the 5th track off the instrumental concept album "Evolution" that I've been working on for the past 4 years, for a project I named after Between the Buried and Me's "Blot". This song was heavily inspired by Undefined Paradox, and many other songs on the record contain riffs and themes from previous songs I've released, only adapted for traditional progressive metal instruments.
Mixed by Gustavo Chagas, the audio cuts off right before the next track begins, a 10-minute song that acts as a centerpiece for the record. Perhaps one day it will be heard, but until then, enjoy this reimagination of "Undefined Paradox" as a metal song.

Not a lot of hard stuff on this one I think, only a couple of sections. But overall it was a great test of speed for me, which is one of my weakest areas along with quads.
I'm not getting much better lately I think, but I will still try out a couple of different things - there are some pending goals that I want to go for eventually. Still, the GH comeback hasn't been what I expected it to be, in terms of personal satisfaction and, well, other stuff. My brief return will be over soon I think, but I won't make a big deal about it. It just didn't work out for me so I'll take it easy rather than stress myself over this.

This was a lucky shot as well. Even though I was fairly consistent at everything, I'd always miss in the first 3 solos for one reason or another. This is actually my first run past Uber Solo C with an FC! I was 100% sure I was going to miss at Uber Solo I, I don't know how I managed to get the slide technique right. And I almost missed at the end due to nervousness, which would've been sad and hilarious at the same time. My wife was training our dog to fetch in the background and it almost distracted me to the point of missing, but thankfully that didn't happen!

I got this video in late April. I had just come home from the supermarket and forgot to take off my mask, but now this kind of reminds me what was (and still is) going on. I lost my grandmother to covid a month before this video, in March. She wasn't even 70 years old yet. Brazil was probably at the peak of the pandemic with 3000-4000 deaths per day. Unfortunately the day came that my grandmother became part of that statistic. A couple of weeks ago, I lost a friend as well. It hit me different because even though I lost many relatives over the years, I never really lost a friend before. So I don't know, this reminds me to keep trying to make the world safer for other people, not just myself. Brazil still is suffering a lot, with thousands of daily deaths and slow vaccinations - I haven't taken a single shot yet, which is scary. I don't know when we'll be able to dig ourselves out of this but I'm not really optimistic about it. At this point I just hope I don't lose somebody else.
Anyway, back to my neutral internet persona.
I'm very proud of this FC even though it's kinda easy at this point, but it was a cool, short grind. Let's see if I can do HP4 at some point!
I have been trying to upload weekly videos but it's been hard to produce them lately, I've been working way too much and feel too tired to play in my spare time at all. Not that it really matters to anyone, but I wanted to see if I was able to provide weekly content for about a year to see what happens. I still have another month or two worth of backlog so we'll see what happens. And a montage I'm planning to release in November. And a couple of charts. And a new song. And I need to get back to work on the Collab. So much to do, I don't know if I'll be able to handle this, but I'll try my best, even though it doesn't feel worth it at this point.

This was one of my most successful charts, and I think it has aged well! It's still lots of fun to play, and it was quite a challenge to get a Tech FC at 150% Speed. This was done in a single day as well, but I had a lot of trouble getting this... For some reason, the section that took me the most time was the intro! I had a total mindblock on it, and only got it out of luck.

"Exoplanets" is written in a 21/8 time signature, making for some awkward tapping transitions.
I am particularly proud of this song. It's been a while since I created a new song that's not related to any other series I released in the past. And I think I was able to create something really interesting with this one!
The basic challenge I set for myself while creating this song was to use odd time signatures in 21, since, you know... it's 2021. Therefore, this song ONLY uses 21/4, 21/8 and 21/16 time signatures! This certainly adds an extra layer of difficulty to it, since some of the tapping patterns are awkward and "misplaced" due to the odd time signature.
The length of this song also makes for an interesting challenge. Although the chart itself isn't as hard as other modern songs, it's still difficult enough to make it a hard song to FC. However, I still think this song has enough variety to be fun for anyone to play.
I hope you'll enjoy this song as much as I do! Definitely one of the favourite songs I've ever written.
As always, thanks for watching!
BONUS CHALLENGE
Try to FC "Ocean E-G" without missing a single sustain, while properly using the strums (i.e. no strumming on the tap notes). Total score while on practice mode should be 113,261, with a 252 note-streak. Video proof is required with a hand cam, in a way that proves the correct usage of strum notes. Bonus points for a 1-handed FC. Complete this, and I will produce "Exoplanets Uber Solo", featuring a specific pattern of your choice (to be adapted into the final product). The only other way to make Exoplanets Uber Solo happen, is to FC the entire song. It's up to you now!Winter Madness March (10th Anniversary Special 4/4)Daniel Wolff2021-07-04 | Ending the celebration of Glacial Storm's 10th Anniversary, I'm pleased to reveal Winter Madness March!
I believe everyone is familiar with Madness March, a song series by the great Schmutz06. For the final challenge of the Glacial Storm 10th Anniversary, I decided to create a Madness March version of the final solo in every Glacial Storm song, the Winter Solo!
This chart was based on the Winter Solo present in Glacial Storm 4, which is the only project I still have saved. Thanks to Sidney and Schmutz, I was able to give it a proper Madness March treatment, which of course means the song starts at a very low BPM, with a constant increase in speed.
I'm particularly proud of how this song turned out, as it departs a bit from my usual style. As it is with Schmutz's Madness March series, I do plan on creating a Kamikaze version once this chart gets destroyed... but I will only start working on it when it gets FC'd. So, who will be the first to tackle this challenge? Place your bets!
I hope you will enjoy this speedy twist of Glacial Storm 4's Winter Solo! And I hope you enjoyed the celebration of Glacial Storm's 10th Anniversary. This whole special event took a lot of work, but it was very fun to do. However... This year I was also able to create a completely new song, unrelated to any other series I've done in the past. I will release it next week, on July 11th. I'm super happy with how it turned out, and I hope you'll enjoy it as well. Stay tuned!

I don't think these songs have aged badly, but there was definitely some room for improvement! With that in mind, I decided to upgrade these charts a little bit, and create a new challenge for these classic old songs. The most significant changes are, obviously, in the solo sections. But I also tried to spice things up with some unconventional strumming sections.

See you there!Glacial Storm 10th Anniversary Announcement!Daniel Wolff2021-06-27 | On this day, 10 years ago, a new custom song for Guitar Hero was released.
On a cold morning in Brazil, a 15-year old Spunky had just finished writing a song celebrating the first week of the winter season in the Southern Hemisphere. This song would be called Glacial Storm, and would be the beginning of my most successful Guitar Hero song series. It was a very different time in the Guitar Hero community, where the song's main solo was thought to be extremely difficult and, as I wrote back then, almost impossible. For today's standards, it's a simple warmup challenge at best.
It's time to change that.
Ladies and gentlemen, I'm pleased to announce the celebration of Glacial Storm's 10th Anniversary. Throughout this following week, I will release 6 different charts related to the Glacial Storm series. The last two charts will contain unpublished audio, whereas the other four will use previously released audio samples. This is the schedule for this week:
June 29th - Glacial Storm 1/2/3 Recharts A modernization of the original Glacial Storm series, with tap notes, solo sections and other modifications that will breathe new life into the series.
July 1st - ??????? ????? ???? ?????? (6m, 8800+ notes) A mysterious chart that will be an interesting endurance challenge.
July 3rd - ??????? ????? ???? ???? (2m, 3300+ notes) An original chart that will be a challenge even to the most skilled players out there.
July 4th - ?????? ??????? ????? (3m, 3200+ notes) An original chart based on another series... this one may lead to another chart.
The charts will be available on fullcombo.net once they're all released, as well as in the description box in their respective release videos.
That's it for today. Stay tuned for the premieres, and I'll see you guys there.
As always, thanks for watching.????? (June 27th)Daniel Wolff2021-06-24 | Tune in on June 27th, 11am ET for the announcement of a special anniversary celebration. Throughout the following week, new charts are going to be released.

I don't even know what to say about this tech FC, but let me try to walk you through the challenges I faced while going for this.
Since day one with a Wiitar, Drew encouraged me to attempt this Tech FC, as it has become an ultimate goal for Wiitar players out there. I decided I'd start grinding Supernovae Solo F, which is supposed to be the hardest section in the whole song. The grind took a few weeks, with lots of chokes, reverse chokes and just ultimate frustration. In the meantime, while I was able to FC other sections, I was just waiting for the Solo F FC before I actually started the grind for the Tech FC. And one day, it finally happened. Thus, began the quest for the Supernovae Tech FC.
I was able to get most of the other sections fairly quickly, such as Sidney's challenge and Inspired, which all contributed to the Brazilian community tech FC of this song. Supernovae Solo E was a challenge, for sure, but the grind only took a few days rather than weeks like Solo F. Once I got that, I moved on to the next challenge...
Jarvis9999's revenge was just as painful (if not even more painful) as Solo F. This time, I was super inconsistent in all the difficult parts of it, and once I improved on a particular section, I would lose my ability to FC the other parts. The grind took approximately two weeks, ending with an FC within the first 15 minutes of attempts in a particular Saturday.
Once I got Jarvis9999's revenge, the Brazilian Community Tech FC was finally completed. So I decided to FC the remaining sections (all I had at this point was Jarvis, PixelGH, Sidney, Inspired, Turn for the Worst, Hyperbola, Solo E and F). That took less than 2 hours, and then my best Tech FC was completed.
Shoutout to Drew for providing me with this Wiitar, without which I wouldn't be able to achieve this Tech FC. And shoutout to Tobi, who assisted me in the methods for a few sections, and encouraged me to go after this Tech FC. Although it's not as clean as yours, Tobi, I did my best.
Also, I definitely rank Jarvis9999's revenge above Solo F now. It's super difficult. And for my Solo F FC, I did a lot of ghosting on the orange wall because I couldn't be bothered with it. I do plan to have a cleaner FC of that part once I'm better at this game.
This took a lot of work, and I hope you enjoy watching this video. If you did, please leave a like and share this video! I do want this particular video to have a greater reach than my other videos, due to the amount of work it took to get it done.
Thanks a lot for watching!Lets get serious, then... Supernovae Tech FC TrailerDaniel Wolff2021-06-14 | Supernovae Tech FC (1st in Latin America) coming next Sunday, June 20th @ 2pm ESTTRIATHLON - 99% 8.361M!!! (Wiitar runs 2/2)Daniel Wolff2021-06-13 | On my first few days with a Wiitar, I attempted a few runs on challenging songs to see what improvements I was able to achieve, if any. Sure enough, I could break a couple of personal records!
This week, I'm uploading my 99% Triathlon run, in which I was able to get a score of 8.3M! I'm sure I will be able to break this one soon enough, but I wanted to upload my progress with a Wiitar as we go.
This video was taken directly from my livestream, hence why the quality is a bit lower than expected... Not to worry, now we will proceed with some more Wiitar madness! Expect the announcement tomorrow, with the premier set for next week, on June 20th.

This week, I'm uploading my 99% Soulless 4 run, in which I was able to get a score of 2.6M! I'm sure I will be able to break this one soon enough, but I wanted to upload my progress with a Wiitar as we go.
This video was taken directly from my livestream, hence why the quality is a bit lower than expected... Not to worry, only one more video in this format before we proceed with some more Wiitar madness!
Thanks for watching.New Wiitar - Highlights from the first streamDaniel Wolff2021-05-30 | Ending the Wiitar unboxing series, here are other highlights from the first stream I did using the Wiitar. It was amazing!
On the next couple of weeks I will upload a couple of good runs I got on famous songs... And on June 20th, the Tech FC you all have been waiting for. Stay tuned!
Thanks for watchingNew Wiitar - First Gameplay and ImpressionsDaniel Wolff2021-05-26 | Continuing the unboxing series (2/3), here I continue to explore the differences between the Xplorer and the Wiitar... I was able to get so many different things on day one already!
This has been an extraordinary experience. Next video is the last one with the gameplay highlights, going live this Sunday! See you there.
Thanks for watching!UNBOXING my first WIITAR! Pt. 1 (most expensive wiitar in the world?!)Daniel Wolff2021-05-23 | This Wiitar cost me approximately 220$ due to Brazil's stupid tax system. I explain it right in the beginning of the video as I hate 'clickbaits' that take a long ass time to address something in the title
Huge shoutout to Drew (KingD / droyal) - he made this all possible. Drew picked up this guitar for me a while ago and made the amazing faceplate you'll see in the video. Thanks a lot, my dude! I hope to make you proud.
This was recorded live on Twitch, you can follow me @dmwolff there. There are two more parts to this unboxing, containing my first moments of gameplay, and then the highlights from the rest of the stream.
I hope you enjoy it! And I hope I'll be able to get some cool FCs in the future (yes, I already got THAT obligatory tech FC... coming out next month!)
Thanks for watching!Clone Hero - Regression Tech FC!!!Daniel Wolff2021-05-16 | One last video before... you know...
Regression was a good Tech FC! For sure. Especially on this Xplorer, which is about to be retired... more information soon!
Thanks for watchingClone Hero - Arcane Apparatus from Beyond Tech FC (5-part)Daniel Wolff2021-05-09 | It's no news to anyone that I love TheMetea11's songs, as he's my main influence when it comes to GH songwriting (it's very noticeable, isn't it?), so I'm extra happy I got this Tech FC.
For the first time in a while I had to use rake strumming to get this Tech FC. I'm not very good at it, and I'm still learning. I thought I'd only need it for the end, but for some reason, I needed it for a couple other parts. I used to be able to get them with standard strumming on GH3PC, but for some reason I find strumming to be a lot more difficult in Clone Hero than on GH3PC. Is it actually more difficult? Because I used to be very consistent in some weird strumming parts (e.g. Soulless 3's Robot Verse), but in Clone Hero I seem to miss them a lot of times. I can't even get a 4x on Robotic Buildup, and I almost FCd it back in GH3PC. So is strumming on Clone Hero harder or do I just suck at it?
Anyway, this Tech FC has been a goal of mine for quite some time. I absolutely love this song and I think it requires quite a good range of skills at this game to get it. I still can't believe the full song got FCd, it just shows I'm still miles away from being good at this game again.
Thanks for watching!Clone Hero - Unknown Voids 100% FC!!! (5th ever?!)Daniel Wolff2021-05-02 | Such an amazing song. One of my favourites by Sidney!
I was surprised to learn this was (as far as I know) the 5th FC of this song, considering this is... quite easy for today's standards? Nonetheless, this was my first attempt ever reaching the solo, so that is super nice.
Thanks for watching!NEW COLLAB SONG FOR CLONE HERO - How to participateDaniel Wolff2021-04-30 | Today I'm launching my very first collaboration project for a new song for Clone Hero. Think of this project as a Supernovae collaboration thing, that's exactly what I'm going for.
Basically, I'll leave a few samples in a Google Drive folder below. What I need from you, music producers, is to create a solo for that sample. As usual, it doesn't have to be a digital solo, real instrument solos are also welcome. I'm opening this collab for people who don't produce music either - people who only chart are allowed! Simply use the sample chart I provided with the sample and chart your solo. I will personally create the sound for your solo and fit it into the music.
Everybody's welcome, producers and charters alike - of course all I ask is for you to do your best job at creating your solo and chart.
- Use the main sample (Sample #1) to create your solo and chart. Feel free to use any of the drum beats. - Provide a good chart that is possible to be FCd - If you're feeling creative, you can use other samples as well. But try to stick to the main sample. - Only combine two samples if you have an AMAZING idea that you think can't work without two samples. - Do not zip the files, upload the entire folder instead. - Only send submissions through Google Drive in a folder. - Reach me on Twitter or Instagram @danielwolffq for private submissions.
By uploading these assets and sending them to me on Google Drive, you are fully authorizing me to use your assets and creations in the song. I will appropriately credit you in the section name and in the description of the release video.

If you have any questions, feel free to comment below. I'll answer as many as I can!Clone Hero - Troubles 100% FCDaniel Wolff2021-04-28 | A surprisingly short grind for this one, took me roughly 20 minutes to get it. It's still a difficult song for me, but I'm glad I was able to take it down quickly. Sort of a filler now that... something happened. I still have about 3 videos to go before I can show that! So stick with me for a while here.
A quick observation about the audio in this video: I had to use the original audio track when editing the video to replace a portion of the original audio recording. The reason is that I was talking to my wife about some stuff, including work stuff, that could potentially be considered confidential. I forgot I was recording and I didn't think I'd FC the song that day. I know, rookie mistake. You'll notice that in some parts of the video there's only the audio from the Troubles mp3 file, so that's the reason why. Don't worry, my audio comes back towards the end so you can still hear my frantic tapping and reaction.
About the FC itself, I still consider this to be a nice FC. I never got consistent on 'FC Me' as I'm not the fastest player in this game, but somehow I got faster than I was back in 2013, which I consider to be when I peaked at this game. So yeah, I'm very happy about this FC! And I'm still looking for more cool FCs to get soon.

I absolutely love this song. Definitely one of my favourite songs ever to be released for this game, Schmutz really nailed everything about it. As a matter of fact, every song in his "Charts of Mass Destruction" track pack are pure gold.
This Tech FC was so challenging to me. I had to resort to some slide tapping in Bridge C, because it was very hard for me to keep that speed with a standard tapping. Other than that, pretty clean! I also didn't think I'd be able to get the Tokyo Sweeps with regular strumming, but it happened. I'm so happy about this one, mainly because it's been a while since I had a first ever of any sorts...
As always, thanks for watching!Clone Hero - Penger Tech FCDaniel Wolff2021-04-20 | This was a cool Tech FC requested by the KingD himself! Thanks a lot, brother.
This is a filler Tech FC, especially because I wasn't going to post it at all. New video again on Sunday 12pm BRT.
Ok, I hate this tech FC. It's not clean at all, I cut it into too many segments... And that's mainly because this song has everything going against me. Every single pattern it explores are the ones I'm terrible at. Weird trills, ascending stuff, everything there seems like it was designed to make me fail. So maybe I'm not too happy about this, but I know people like this song (and I had a good thumbnail for it).
I actually got another Tech FC last night... A first ever Tech FC... By a certain famous CH/GH composer... Stay tuned for the beginning of next month. Oh yes, and there's a 5th ever FC lined up for next month as well.Clone Hero - EdTrio Tech FC (4-part)Daniel Wolff2021-04-18 | Believe it or not, I never actually got any full solos from this song until now. I never bothered to learn it because I was (and still am) terrible with quad chimneys. For some reason my left hand movement is very wrong when I attempt this kind of pattern, so I basically used this tech FC as an exercise.
I still need to improve a lot on my left hand skills in order to be able to FC this full song someday. It's very possible, but I need more consistency on the quad patterns throughout the song. I'm still very happy about this Tech FC as it has bothered me for a while that I never got it.
I've been taking my time to revisit these old songs and doing what I should've done 7 years ago. I'm still regaining my skills but I'm happy with the results. I'm still practicing to improve and get some neat FCs, so stay tuned for more.
As always, thanks a lot for watching!Clone Hero - Patterns 2 100% FC!!!Daniel Wolff2021-04-11 | I've always wanted to get this one, I'm glad I was finally able to do it! I actually got this before ge4ce, but it means just as much to me.
I love this song in so many ways. It's fun, it's challenging, it sounds superb and it feels great to play it. I've known for a while I was able to get this FC, but I lacked the consistency to do it. A couple of days of practice and here are! Even though this is not as good as ge4ce, it's just as important to me.
I wonder what FCs will come next. I'm certainly trying my best to improve, so if you have any FC suggestions, I'd be happy to give them a try.
Thanks for watching!SOULLESS 3 100% FC!!! FIRST IN BRAZIL (Clone Hero)Daniel Wolff2021-04-01 | First ever in Latin America too, I think! I was going to post this on Sunday, but I realized that Tobi's Soulless 3 FC happened on April 1st, 2013! So, I think it's fair to post mine exactly 8 years after.
00:00 - Choke Compilation
01:00 - FC Run
Okay, okay, okay... wow. I honestly don't even know what to say. If you would have told one month ago that I'd get this FC, I would not have believed it. Seriously, I never even considered going for this at all, it seemed way beyond my abilities. I can barely believe I got it. This is, without a doubt, my best FC ever. And I think it's going to take a while to top this one for me... until the Wiitar comes, maybe?
Now, a bit of a backstory on the FC. Last weekend, I decided to give this song a few runs just for fun. I was surprisingly consistent on the solo and had a few good runs. Within one hour, I was able to get a -9 run. I never came close to that in my life. Soon after, I got a -5... So I was happy with that, and decided to let it go for a while. On Monday, within just a few attempts, I was able to get the -1 run I posted a few days ago... That was a massive improvement, and I was determined to get it.
On Tuesday, I was able to get a wired network connection to my home office in order to stream my attempts. The attempts weren't that great, but I was able to work out my consistency on a few sections that once were a major trouble for me, especially Strumming Verse, Crazy Verse, and Cavern Verse C. I had Raylan, Tobi and Drew assisting me for methods and ideas to become more consistent, and it worked out in the end. Even though I wasn't able to get the FC back then, I could feel it was just a matter of time...
Less than 24 hours later. Wednesday, March 31st. I had a pretty busy and stressful day at work, and once my shift was over, I immediately hopped on Clone Hero to continue my Soulless 3 grind. I was too tired to stream, so I decided to work on it offline. It took me a few attempts to get warmed up, but I was able to validate my consistency on every single section. Pretty soon, I was able to get past Crazy Verse. And every single attempt, I got past the fast strumming part on Cavern Verse C, missing once right in the transition to the HOPOs. And then, two times in a row, I got past Cavern Verse C. And both of these attempts I missed on Mini Solo (B, then E). I was getting so frustrated. I even took a 1-hour break to take my dog for a walk.
Once I got back, I decided to give it a few more tries. On my second try, I got past Mini-Solo... only to miss on Xyphos. It's been probably over a year since I missed on Xyphos on a real run. That made me even angrier but I was determined to keep trying... The very next run, I got past Xyphos... And had a bad timing on the Reverse Chimney solo. Oh man, that was painful... 15 minutes later, there I was back at the solo with an FC... Got past the chimney solo, and for whatever reason, I missed a red note on Robot Solo. You can tell by my reaction how pissed off I was...
And then it happened. I was once again past Crazy Verse when I felt a weird pain on my ring finger, and I assumed I had broken my nail. I missed when I went to check it, but thankfully I was alright. And so, the FC run begins. You'll notice my frustration right away, but you can also see that I was consistent as hell on every little thing. By that time, I was ready to go to dinner, so that would have been my last attempt of the day anyway... So I decided to throw in a little bit of superstition and made a bad Star Power activation on purpose (you'll notice it in the video), just to make it funny if that was the FC run... and well, it worked.
After so many painful chokes, I finally got my best FC ever. I'm especially proud of this one, considering its length and difficulty, not to mention it's one of the most famous songs out there in the community. In fact, if you liked this video, please share it with your friends so everyone will know that Latin America is still very much alive in the Guitar Hero Community! It kinda makes me proud, I think, to be the one to bring the first Soulless 3 FC to Brazil and Latin America. It sounds silly, I know, but I'm really proud of that.
This is such a huge accomplishment for me, and I'm grateful I got it so fast. I can't wait to see what I can pull off with a Wiitar. Even then, no matter what I end up FCing in the future, this one will always be one of my favourite FCs.
As always, thanks for watching! If you liked this video, please like and subscribe to the channel, and share it with other Guitar Hero enthusiasts. I have weekly videos programmed to go live every Sunday at 11am ET until next month, so stay tuned for some other cool FCs. This was supposed to be aired on this Sunday, April 4th. But I got too excited about this FC and wanted to share it as soon as possible. So, we'll come back with more videos on next Sunday, April 11th, with another Tech FC. See you then!Soulless 3: -1 run :(Daniel Wolff2021-03-30 | Probably my worst reverse choke ever. This is going down eventually.
In fact, I may start streaming in a few minutes to grind this LIVE. Go to my twitch channel to check it out: twitch.tv/dmwolffClone Hero - Universes Tech FC (5-part)Daniel Wolff2021-03-28 | I know this song is probably considered easy to the community nowadays, but this is still such a huge milestone for me. I'm very inconsistent with quads, and I really lack the speed to multiple sections of this song, so this always seemed out of reach for me. However, knowing that I may or may not be able to get a Wiitar this year, I decided to push myself and improve my physical boundaries on this game. It's going pretty well, I'd say!
As for the full song, I doubt I'll ever be able to do it. It's simply too extreme for me, and I can't see myself doing it even with a Wiitar. Only time will tell, I suppose!
Thanks for watching.Clone Hero - ge4ce 100% FC!!!Daniel Wolff2021-03-21 | This is arguably one of my greatest FCs ever. Until recently, I didn't even think I could come close to this. The mighty KingD convinced me otherwise, and he was right, as usual. Thanks for motivating me, brother!
Now, what a terrible grind this was. Seriously, I can't remember ever being this stressed over an FC grind. Except for the Outro, I'm pretty sure I missed in every section at least once. Funny enough, WTF C was the least of my problems with this grind. My main issues were the transition from WTF A to B, and Buckethead C, which is why I use a sacrilegious method for it.
The issue with WTF A to B was an odd one, as I always seemed to miss at the same spot every single time: the last orange from the second reverse chimney. I tried for hours to figure out what I was doing wrong, but it seems that my xplorer simply didn't want to register my orange sometimes.
I don't know why, but that same issue presented itself in other places too. In this run, it happened on WTF B. If you pay attention, you'll notice that one of my left hand BRG triplets didn't register for whatever stupid reason. I still don't know how I saved the run from that, but I'm glad I did, otherwise I'd be really angry about that miss.
And one of the chokes was on Buckethead D. That was perhaps one of my most frustrating misses ever. Anyway, I'm just glad this grind is over, and it took me about 3-4 days too. Any longer and I'd lose my mind.
Anyway, I already got two videos ready to go on the next 2 Sundays. I don't know how long I can keep with the weekly videos but I'll try my best. As always, thanks for watching!Clone Hero - Destruction Armageddon Tech FC (4-part)Daniel Wolff2021-03-14 | This one was long overdue for me. I've been missing the quad chimneys section for 8 years as my left hand isn't exactly the best at that kind of pattern. Fortunately, I've finally learned how to invert the method for that part with consistency, and decided to try and get it in 4 parts for an extra challenge. As it is, I'm still too inconsistent to even attmept a full FC, but maybe someday.
I also got a couple of videos ready to go next week, one is another overdue Tech FC (maybe you can guess what it is...) and the other is one of my best FCs ever since I came back. Stay tuned!
Thanks for watching.CH - Artillery 100% FC (Blunderbuss 2)Daniel Wolff2021-03-08 | I believe this song was supposed to be the sequel to Blunderbuss, but I don't trust my memory on that one. I've always wanted to FC this song, but for some reason I lacked a few of the techniques required to do so - not a problem now.
This one is also an exception to my "clean" FCs. I'm mentally incapable of doing those intro trills without ghosting a yellow note every cycle. I can't fight it, so I embraced it, and I'm not sorry. You know how picky I am with spamming and ghosting, so this is basically me being a little bit of a hypocrite.
Thanks for watching!CH - SOULLESS 6 100% FC (Underchart)Daniel Wolff2021-03-01 | Here it is, the second easiest Soulless!
As always, I would guess this is considered easy by today's standards. For me, however, it's still a very difficult song. Even though it took me only one hour to grind it, I would still rank this among my top 10 FCs, for sure.
I honestly never thought I'd be able to FC this one, but all I had to do was to perform a double tap on the quads in order to use my reverse method for the X-Chimneys, since my left hand isn't performing so well lately.
Cool FC. I wonder which one I'll get next, this one seemed out of my skillset and somehow I pulled it off. Sorry about not recording the hands video on the FC. You can still hear my reaction in the background, though. And if anything, the hands video only missed in the quads lmao.
Let's see if this video will get more exposure by having 'Soulless' in the title, ha! Oh yes, no rake too.
