Amateur review for anyone curious about what this item is, how it works, and the functionality provided by each piece in the set.
We bought one of these sets for checking our children's ears as a pre-diagnostic before taking them to a real doctor. I'm a big fan of expensive tools, so I thought I'd try the top of the line model first. It's a great kit and I intended to keep it. However, they included the wrong otoscope head, so we'll be returning it.
Undaunted, and seeing opportunity in our own misfortune, we thought we would do a quick review for your benefit. There isn't much on YouTube right now about this product. Might save someone some time.
We're just parents, not medical students, so we'll probably try the significantly less expensive, non lithium-ion Welch Allyn PocketScope next. The 97200-MS is just a bit too expensive for occasional use, especially considering the replacement cost of lithium ion battery handles and the 3-5 year lifespan of lithium ion battery technology.
However, we think this kit is probably ideal for professionals and students. Take a look.
