I Trained 8 Weeks to Run a 5 Minute Mile Frank Laundry 2021-11-11 | #howtorunfaster #5minutemile #runfasterHow fast can you get after 8 weeks of training? *disclaimer* I am NOT a professional and this is NOT medical or training advice!Running is a huge passion of mine but I've never pushed myself in the sport, nor have I ever learned how to run properly. The heel striking was intense at the start of this challenge my guy. In order to even try to hit a sub 5 minute mile I had to learn how to warm up properly, how to increase my mileage safely and that it's okay to pace yourself.My training plan was pretty simple for this challenge I pushed myself pretty hard for the majority of my runs, going at about 80% race pace. I also had a couple easy days every week. When I felt off I would take the day off. But when I was running I was running hard. If you want a full break down of my training comment below! But for me a lot of it was mental. Just forcing myself to get up and run hard as often as I could. Running 3-5 miles and not going for those longer 10 mile runs. Which were super fun but my body just wasn't ready for that kind of distance. Also I had to get new shoes too. Proper equipment is super important to prevent injury.I really just hope this inspires people to go run after their goals. Even if you don't reach them you're gonna get close. :)

Reading is something I got disconnected from for a list of reasons and while, it should be as easy as picking up something with a nice cover, I can't promise hours to a book that might not be good. So naturally I need to visit the wonderful world of local independent bookstores. A place filled with books and people with great recommendations.I used to stress over the fact there are so many books I haven't read but now I get excited about the thought of trying to read them all!!
