Walking the Dales Way is a 80 mile / 128 km long distance hiking trail from Ilkley, Yorkshire to Windermere, Lake District. I chose to do the route backpacking carrying all my camping gear. I had a fantastic weather window allowing me to experience the Dales Way at it's finest.
On Day 3 I walked from Sedbergh Farm & Fell Camping to Lake Windermere. I continued hiking through the Pennines with the Howgill Fells to the north. On Day 3 of this long distance hiking trail I completed 28 miles.

The total weight of all my backpacking gear is 9.7kg including food, water and AV gear. I’m guessing the base weight is just over 7kg.
The forecast was great with highs of 18c but lows of -1c so I had to take my cold weather camping gear.
