The Mummy Returns Complete Score 01 - The Legend of the Scorpion KingJoeSnyderwalk2026-09-18 | The Mummy Returns Complete Score 01 - The Legend of the Scorpion KingX-Men Who? Score MashupJoeSnyderwalk2012-01-24 | I noticed that the tracks "The Sun's Gone Wibbly" from Murray Gold's score to the fifth series of Doctor Who and "First Class" from Henry Jackman's score to X-Men: First Class (also a fifth entry...coincidence?) have a similar rhythm and chord progression.
Hence, I sped up the X-Men track a bit, changed the key to make it match and...mashup! I think it sounds pretty cool with the added choir. Enjoy!24 Lord of the Rings Impressions in (around) 24 SecondsJoeSnyderwalk2011-11-24 | In the style of the Nostalgia Critic's "50 Impressions in 50 Seconds", except with Lord of the Rings characters. Mostly based on the films, except for Tom Bombadil of course. Hope you enjoy!NihilismJoeSnyderwalk2011-11-21 | We are nothing, we are of nothing, we shall become nothing.
This video shows some similarities between music by Two Steps From Hell (for those of you who don't know, they write music for movie trailers) and other music, mainly other film scores. Some of them are a slight similarity or coincidental - others are blatantly obvious! In all cases, the Two Steps From Hell track comes first, followed by the piece it's similar to - that's in order to give you a chance to guess before I give the game away :)
DISCLAIMER: This video is made in affection, and I have great respect for Thomas Bergersen and Nick Phoenix (otherwise I wouldn't have all this music by them, would I?).
Part 2 covers the following 2SFH albums:
Some of Dreams and Imaginations (2008)
The Human Experience (2008) - a documentary score by Thomas Bergersen
Legend (2008)
The Devil Wears Nada (2009)
Power of Darkness (2010)
Illusions (2011)
Nero (2011)
If there are any other similarities that I've missed, don't hesitate to tell me in the comments section - I might make a third video sometime!

Hope you enjoy :)Cat attacks pencil caseJoeSnyderwalk2011-08-14 | A friends' cat mistakes a pencil case for a snake (presumably)...it very cautiously approaches, bats at it and then leaps backwards. The funniest part is how the other cat sits there watching with a mildly amused look on his face. Cats sure are entertaining creatures :)Cutthroat Island Complete Score CD2 07 - The Hangmans NooseJoeSnyderwalk2010-10-12 | The thirty-first track of the complete version of the absolute greatest, most epically swashbuckling adventure score EVER composed: John Debney's Cutthroat Island (1995).

Love the ballsy choral chanting in this one!The love theme from Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End sounds good in reverse!JoeSnyderwalk2010-09-12 | Just a quick video I put together to commemorate Hans Zimmer's 53rd birthday (the 12th of September, and may he keep composing until he's twice that age!).
Oddly enough, the love theme from Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End loses none of its beauty when played in reverse; on the contrary, it's beautiful in a very different way!
These are the last two minutes or so of Drink Up Me Hearties, by the way.My 10 Favorite Danny Elfman Main TitlesJoeSnyderwalk2010-07-23 | Danny Elfman is the best at writing memorable, iconic main titles - that is, the music that you hear over a movie's opening credits. Here are my 10 favorites. Not the "top 10" - they don't have to be YOUR favorites!
Note that this isn't a countdown of my 10 favorite Elfscores. My two favorites are actually Numbers 4 and 6 on this list...which most Elfmaniacs will agree are his masterpieces!
Some other great Elfman main titles include those for The Nightmare Before Christmas, Sommersby, Black Beauty, Sleepy Hollow, Hellboy II: The Golden Army, Wanted and The Wolfman, but they didn't quite make the cut for me...
Of these ten themes, only three were composed for non-Tim Burton movies, and the top six were. Best director-composer relationship behind Steven Spielberg and John Williams, in my opinion. The Mummy Returns Complete Score 28 - Time to GoJoeSnyderwalk2010-05-15 | The twenty-eighth track of Alan Silvestri's spectacular The Mummy Returns complete score. The absolute highlight of the score, Alan Silvestri's best-ever action piece and the reason why he shouldn't have been fired off Pirates of the Caribbean.
