I have some experience using a DAW (= Digital Audio Workstation) called Reaper, have used it to trace music (for potential piano covers) and other small audio editing, but I haven't made any actual music with it. Since I don't know what kind of music I want to make and haven't downloaded any samples (sounds), I took Reaper's build in synthesizer, in which you can generate sound from square, sawtooth, triangle and sinewaves with few settings: http://i.imgur.com/9Vo9ha0.pngYou can also layer multiple ReaSynths together into one instrument. For example, combining two sounds with slightly different pitch makes a cool chorus effect that is used in many sounds in this piece. A wide sounding stereo effects for specific a instrument works the same way: When the sounds are slightly different, you perceive them as different sounds coming around you instead of one sound coming from the front.Reaper also had build in a very primitive synthesizer drum kit with 4 drums (2 of which are pretty much bass drums) with no tweaking possibilities. They weren't good at all but I decided to keep it simple: The end result has no added reverb or equalization, it's just pure combination of the 4 most basic synthetic sound waves.The name is Epic Chip Adventure because it's chip tune and reminds me a bit of Zelda overworld theme (adventure game).

It's has very good touch and sound for the price, but in my opinion the sound is equalized badly. That's why I equalized it a bit afterwards. Result: good sound. UPDATE: I was quite noob using an EQ.
