Distorted DevotionHungarian Dance No.5 by Johannes Brahms for viola and heavy rock guitars. A lot of classical composers have made some pretty awesome metal tracks, #Brahms being no exception. His fifth Hungarian Dance works really well as a #rock or #metal #cover with some #distortion, heavy drums and the #viola taking the lead.
Working on this track I was surprised how dissonant and heavy this tune actually is. It sounds so festive on the surface, but is actually really #dark when you look into the chord progressions and how the notes fit.
It isn't unusual for classical composers from the romantic era like Beethoven, Chopin, Paganini (!), Rachmaninoff or Grieg to write dark classical music works that are excellent rock tracks, but it doesn't happen often the darkness of a theme is hidden so well in the arrangement and orchestration chosen for the piece.
Hope you like my neoclassical rock / metal edition of this beautiful track!

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬Neoclassical Guitar Etude #3 - String Skipping Arpeggios (With Tab & Backing Track!)Distorted Devotion2022-07-15 | #Neoclassical guitar etude focusing on playing arpeggios skipping strings. Both in 16th notes and triplets, to practice changing between the two as well With the guitar tab in the bottom. Played on my Fender Stratocaster model through a Dark Terror amp by Orange (which sound amazing for the price and ease of transport!).
Difficulty is moderate, and depends on how quickly you play this. The 'bottleneck' in this piece will be different for everyone, but try to practice each part as quickly as possible.
Hoping to have resolved the problem of not being able to hear the guitar I got a few times in my old neoclassical guitar etude video.
#viola and #symphonic #metal cover of the famous final fantasy #battletheme by nobuo uematsu. Already very well played by the black mages, I wanted to give this one the viola and #strings treatment. Though I can never hope to play it like the master himself, I hope you'll enjoy it anyway.
Always loved the Final Fantasy Series (Final Fantasy IV being my favourite, VII a close second). The soundtrack of this game is - as always - absolutely phenomenal. Though you'd be hearing this constantly during the game, it never seemed to get old and always felt like being on an #epic and heroic quest.

The scale shown on-screen is for guitars tuned in standard E tuning ( EADGBE ).
The entire scale is shown with black dots and the current arpeggio is highlighted by white dots in the black dots of the scale. The numbers below show the fret numbers. Dots on the thick white line on the left represent open strings. The scales beyond position 12 are the same as shown on-screen. Fret 13 being the same note as fret 1 only an octave higher.
Chord progressions used (mostly I-VI-IV-V) and progressions like these are very common within rock and metal, so it's a good idea to train not only scales, but also arpeggios within this scale for these chord progressions. This exact progression can be heard in a lot of songs by symphonic rock bands like Epica, Within Temptation and Nightwish as heavier bands like Killswitch Engage.
I've only used harmonic minor in the scale during the dominant V with #3. It could be argued that you can always play the leading tone B instead of Bb but as you can also always use melodic minor with A and B instead of Ab en Bb that would complicate the scale on-screen quite a bit. For now I've only shown the #7 if it is also present in the chords played.

Inspired by classic horror movie themes like that from 28 Days later and Halloween. As I think Symphonic Black Metal goes together very well with horror music I've taken some inspiration from bands within that genre.

About the game (From Wikipedia): Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is an action-adventure game played from a third-person perspective. It also includes elements commonly found in platform games. The player assumes control of Nathan Drake, who is physically adept and is able to jump, sprint, climb, swim, scale narrow ledges and wall-faces to get between points, swing with a rope, use a grappling hook and perform other acrobatic actions. Drake can use various firearms such as assault rifles, pistols and grenades to kill enemies. Stealth elements are incorporated into the game, allowing the player to sneak behind enemies and kill them without being noticed.[8] The melee combat system was reworked to avoid the presence of quick time events.[9] Drake also gains the ability of controlling vehicles directly.[10]
While the game is linear, environments feature multiple paths for the player to explore.[11] Maps are also significantly larger than the previous games in the franchise,[12] with the explorable area being 10 times larger than the previous games.[13] The artificial intelligence (AI) of enemies was enhanced. They are now able to respond to the player's actions more responsively, coordinate tactics, and cooperate with each other.[9] The AI of Drake's companions, including Sam and Sully, were improved and will assist Nathan in combat situations, though the player can not directly command them.[14] A dialogue tree is introduced, though it does not affect the story's progression.[15] The transition between cutscene and gameplay sequences has been described as "seamless".[16] Extra visual filters and modes, such as a zero-gravity mode, bullet time gameplay, and a cel-shaded artstyle, can be unlocked by using points players collected in the main game.[17]Cursed Puppet | Symphonic Metal With ViolaDistorted Devotion2016-05-14 | Get this at bandcamp: ominouschronicles.bandcamp.com/track/cursed-puppet

Main Theme | Symphonic Metal StyleDistorted Devotion2016-02-22 | Also known as 'In the House, In a Heartbeat' and 'Don Abandons Alica', This theme is also used in several of the other songs written for the '28' series (28 Days Later, 28 Weeks Later, and will probably appear in the currently upcoming 28 months later). This is the 28 Weeks Later Main Theme John Murphy wrote for the film with the same name.
I don't think I need to explain that the score he wrote for this film is already very 'metal' in itself. Besides obviously sharing the mood the original track ends in a sort of metal climax. I just wanted to bring out the metal side of this theme a bit more by making this Metal Version of the original theme.
Please don't forget to subscribe if you like this cover, as there will be more coming up soon! We haven't even begun to uncover the vast amount of modern film and gaming soundtracks that have so many metal elements in it that modern film music might as well be called a sub-genre of metal.
