This time it’s between The Dark Half, Eyes of the Dragon and Blaze.
I clearly thought that I'd be putting this out in August, and have delayed it a couple of times to make way for other videos.
I'm hoping some of you will have an opinion and vote for one of the books.
Thanks for getting involved!
If you want to tip the channel, I have a buymeacoffee page where you can chuck a few quid if you fancy it:

In this video, I am looking at:
Back There
The Whole Truth
The Invaders
Penny For Your Thoughts
Twenty Two
Odyssey of Flight 33
There were 156 episodes in the original series, so taking 6 stories for each video will make it a project that lasts 26 videos.
Let me know if you know these episodes, and what you think of The Twilight Zone in general.
As always, thanks for watching!
This kind of endeavour was started by Olly at @CriminOllyBlog and Greg at @anotherbibliophilereads - then massively spearheaded and kicked into lightspeed by MJ at @M-J
I also mention @fiberartsyreads in that context too...
While this was happening Mike at @michaelk.vaughan8617 started flexing with a 500 book challenge that made everyone cock their head, bemused.
.....so in this video, I talk about how I'm going to do it, how long for, and what books I have bought recently as my final purchases before the halt on buying begins.
Please comment below on the challenge or the books I mention.

Let me know below if you've read it and what you think of it.
I was partly reading this to give a nod to the awesome book event "Shorty September" created by @TooManyHeathers and @pastorytime2683 - both channels massively worth checking out.
The prompts are a stroke of genius for an event celebrating short fiction:
🩳 Ripped Shorts: Read a Mystery or Slasher.
🩳 Summer Cookout Shorts: Read a book and eat/slash cook something that goes with it.
🩳 Leopard Print Shorts: Read a book you've seen someone else reading out in the wild (can be out in public or online).
🩳 Half & Half Shorts: Read a book then watch the movie (or the other way round).
🩳 Micro (Taylor Swift) Shorts: Read a poetry book or read a book with a break-up in it.
🩳 Jorts (jean shorts): Read a book from the 70s or 80s.
🩳 Rock Star Shorts: Read a book and pair it with a song or album.
🩳 Zip-off Trousers: Read a book with a title that could be shorter.
🩳 Paper Bag Shorts: Buy a book and read it! (bonus points for getting a paper bag).
🩳 Supermarket 2-Pack Shorts Bundle: Read a non-fiction book that ties in with another of your shorties.
🩳 Nu-Metal Bermuda Shorts: Read a book that mixes genres.
🩳 Shorts with Pockets: Read a book with something on the cover that would fit in pocket.
I'm hoping to get to a couple more shorts, but because of two chunky books I'm reading this month, I'm only giving a nod to the event.
If you'd like to tip the channel, please head over to www.buymeacoffee.com for my page - bookssongsandothermagic.
Thanks for watching!!

(4) BONUS PROMPT: Impart your words of wisdom to all of the fledgling booktubers out there!
(5) TAG SOME PEOPLE! I tag YOU and EVERYONE featured in this video PLUS the lovely people below!

I also talk about a new event I will be doing myself on my channel that I'm calling Spooky Shorts - where I read short horror fiction in October, in honour of Scott from @thebookishbryants
This is the video I have already done on Spooky Shorts:
youtube.com/watch?v=JAfB5kRvDVU
So I do mention @davebrzeski who is the Dave mentioned above, as well as MJ from @M-J - and briefly mention the awesome @royreadsanything
OH and I also mention Dave at @BookBlather as his name is Dave.
If you would like to 'tip' the channel, I have a buymeacoffee page now, just go to www.buymeacoffee.com/bookssongsandothermagic
Thanks for watching everybody!
I also mention @CriminOllyBlog and @BookBlather when talking about some buddy reads I've done.
Please comment below on how you feel about the issue and the books I've mentioned in the video.
Thanks for watching!
It's something that I wondered while thinking about Harlan Ellison's critical popularity and general respect - mixed with almost everything being out of print and his books being so hard to get.
I'd love to know your thoughts on what I'm saying here in the video.
I kept it to science fiction, mostly, as making it more general would open a huge can of worms that I wouldn't do justice.
Thanks for watching!
- as you can see from the review I think it's an important book.
This is the 9th book covered for the project.
As always, thanks for watching!
I don't have the will or energy or interest to put up reviews of films I don't like, so regular followers will know I put up positive reviews, but I genuinely loved this film.
Take a look at the video to see why.
Thanks for watching!

A few days ago, Kim put out this video:
youtube.com/watch?v=4WIBX2e5-Ts&t=173s
- that had me wanting to make a response video.
In it I talk about my favourite female authors, books authored by women and some things I will be reading soon.
In the video I also mention @BookishChas and @BookBlather
and the 24BB project created by @M-J
Please comment below on what you think of those books and authors.
Thanks for watching!

Time's Effect don't play that often as Bemis is so busy, but I love playing gigs with both my children, as well as Sammi and Rich joining us in the new lineup.
Jess Tribbeck: Vocals
Louis Howells: Vocals and Baritone Guitar
Sammi Roxburgh: Vocals and Keys
Gareth Howells: Vocals and Guitar
Richie Leo: Vocals and 12 string Guitar
Enjoy!
Some of the humour is dated, but that is inevitable with humour...I love it for the artwork more than the humour.
Please comment below if you have any memory or current relationship with Mad Magazine.
Thanks for watching!
In it, I talk about two events, Garbaugust and Book Trek 2024:

I mention these people, that I want to give a hug to, specifically:
@M-J @BookTimewithElvis and a friend that I didn't name.
Also the family of @AliceandtheGiantBookshelf and Becky from @thebookishbryants
I had also planned to give a shout out to @LiterateTexan too, as he's been going through a lot this year - I had it on my notes but forgot to mention him in the video - but the hug is there...
ALSO - Hugs to everyone else!!!
I think we do genuinely have to know sometimes that someone cares about us, and this is my humble way of doing it - look at this whenever you need to.
- or at least it was in vlog form - now it's just a video!

Here, I have chosen 10 covers (yeah, OK, I mention 13) - out of 424 books that could qualify.
I am tempted to do this every year - with different covers each time.

I'm a little behind, but I'm going to try and catch up.

Trigger warning: I do talk about domestic abuse towards the end of the video, so please be aware if that’s a sensitive subject for you.
Thanks for watching.
This is different because it's about specifically collecting books, which I'm sure some of you do.
Some of you don't and have developed a love of ebooks to make your books a much smaller presence in your house which I totally understand.
For me, the physicality and joy of collecting is a big thing.
So I talk about the 9 authors that I collect everything I can find, as well as other types of books that I collect, and then give 4 words to describe why collecting is fun.
Please comment below if you can relate to these words and this preoccupation.
Thanks for watching!
It appears that the case is a strong one, but I resisted putting something up first in case it was nonsense.
As it is, I had to wrestle with how I feel as a fan of his work.
Please comment below on your feelings on this.
Thanks for watching, as always.
Their video was about reading for pleasure and how important it is to remember that - reading is for fun and should always be a positive thing.
As they say in their video, pursue joy and let your freak flag fly.
I also mention Garbaugust, as it's great timing, being such a celebration of fun reading : -
