Love Me Two Times (The Doors) on 12 String Guitar / ACOUSTIC (Blues) Cover

Gregor Arh (Archie) 2023-08-15 | I am presenting my acoustic cover of Love me two times by one of my all time favourite bands The Doors. I played it in a bluesy style on a hand made 12 string acoustic guitar, that was built by my dad. I also added one guitar part (lick) from Freddie King's Hide Away (as played by Eric Clapton on Bluesbreakers' Beano album). Audio recording and mixing was done in Cubase 12. The cinematic video for this acoustic cover of Love me two times was shot on LUMIX S5 camera (V-log, C4K 10 bit 4:2:2) using Lumix S 85mm & 35mm f/1.8 lens. During filming I used hazer to create a bit softer look. Video was then edited and color graded in Davinci Resolve 18.5.

Gregor Arh (Archie) 2023-05-28 | In this video, I present my ukulele (acoustic) cover of the timeless classic "I'll See You in My Dreams" that was originally composed in 1924 by Isham Jones, with lyrics by Gus Kahn. My cover is based on Joe Brown's live version from Concert for George. The ukulele that I used was entirely handmade by my dad just few days ago. I only recently started playing this wonderful instrument and this is also the first time I recorded a song with it.

Legend has it that he took his guitar to the crossroads of Highways 49 and 61 in Clarksdale, Mississippi where the devil retuned his instrument in exchange for his soul. Gregor Arh (Archie) 2022-09-10 | This is my Acoustic Cover of Hey Brother by Avicii feat. Dan Tyminski. I played it on a handmade acoustic guitar that was built by my dad. I also added vocal harmonies to verses, choruses and bridges (it took me quite some tries and a bit of auto tune to make them sound right). Audio recording and mixing was done in Cubase. The video for this acoustic cover of Hey Brother was shot on LUMIX S5 camera (V-log profile) with Lumix S 85mm f/1.8 lens and ND variable filter (K&F Concept). I also used hazer during filming to create a bit softer (cinematic) look. Video was then edited and color graded in Davinci Resolve 18.

It is a bit tricky song to play (it starts on beat two if you are having problems with timing during the intro) and it took me quite some time to be able to play it at its original tempo of 170 bpm (half-time for verses). I played my cover of Chicken Fried on a handmade classical guitar, that was tuned down to E flat (E♭, B♭, G♭,D♭, A♭, E♭). I also added some vocal harmonies to verses & choruses.

Audio recording and mixing was done in Cubase. The video was shot on LUMIX S5 camera using Lumix S 85mm f/1.8 lens and edited in Davinci Resolve.

Gregor Arh (Archie) 2021-02-11 | House of the rising sun (The Animals): I am presenting my acoustic cover of a traditional folk song House of the rising sun (Rising sun blues). It is based on a famous version that was recorded in 1964 by The Animals, which features one of the greatest guitar intros of all time played by Hilton Valentine. This is also my tribute to Mr. Hilton who unfortunately passed away at the end of January... His music will live forever and his playing will continue to inspire new generations of guitar players. For me this was one of the first songs that I learned to play on a guitar after watching my dad play it over and over. And to this day I am still amazed how a simple A minor arpeggio can be so powerful and timeless. Pure magic.

The song was named after the boat (it was composed during holiday on a yacht named Signe) and as Eric Clapton explained in his Unplugged interview it was written to heal himself. I played it on a brand new classical guitar, which was handmade by my dad (www.handmade-guitars.si).

Gregor Arh (Archie) 2017-08-16 | I proudly present my version of a beautiful ballad As tears go by, which was written by Rolling Stones and released in late 1965 on the album December's Children (And Everybody's). This is the first song that I recorded with a brand new 12 string guitar, which was produced by my dad (www.handmade-guitars.si). It plays and sounds awesome :)

Recording and mixing was done in Cubase 7. The video was shot with Canon EOS 650d camera with 50mm F1.8 lens and edited in Sony Vegas Pro.

Long as I can see the light (CCR) - Acoustic cover

Gregor Arh (Archie) 2017-01-28 | I'm back with a new upload after quite a few months of pause and I hope you'll like it! I present you my acoustic version of a song Long as I can see the light by Creedence Clearwater Revival. I played it in D and arranged a slightly different singing line that is in original version.

I played a song on a brand new handmade classical guitar model Daniel Friederich, which was produced by my dad www.handmade-guitars.si. Guitar solo in the middle was played on a dobro Hound dog guitar, tuned to an open D (D, A, D, F#, A, D). I used Jim Dunlop's glass slide nr. 212 (it fits very nicely to my pinky).

Recording and mixing was done in Cubase 7. The video was shot with Canon EOS 650d camera with 50mm F1.8 lens and edited in Sony Vegas Pro.

Gregor Arh (Archie) 2015-03-11 | This is my version of a song Norwegian Wood (This bird has flown) by The Beatles. It was written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney and released on the 1965 album Rubber Soul. Initially I recorded guitar and lead vocal and then added harmony vocals and solo guitar imitating sitar. Since I couldn't find my capo I had to improvise a bit with clamps similar as I did on my cover of Hollywood hills (Sunrise Avenue). Well once again they handled the task perfectly and I might even consider using them more frequently :) Recording and mixing was done in Cubase 7. The video was shot with Canon EOS 650d camera with 50mm F1.8 lens and edited in Sony Vegas Pro.

I played it in a way as Eric Clapton did on MTV Unplugged in 1992 (his version is actually based on Muddy Waters' song I feel like going home). The guitar is tuned to an open G tuning (D, G, D, G, H, D) and I used Jim Dunlop's glass slide nr. 212 (it fits very nicely to my pinky). Recording and mixing was done in Cubase 7. The video was shot with Canon EOS 650d camera using 50mm f/1.8 lens and edited in Sony Vegas Pro.

Robert Johnson is one of the greatest blues musicians of all time. Legend has it that he took his guitar to the crossroads of Highways 49 and 61 in Clarksdale, Mississippi where the devil retuned his instrument in exchange for his soul. He returned with a formidable technique and a mastery of the blues... He recorded Rambling on my mind on November 23, 1936 in San Antonio (Texas).
