About The SongMe and Segnon Tiewul wrote 'At the end of the world' during one of those weeks that felt like the end of the world. Every news channel spouting something daunting. A former US president producing a blockbuster film about an imminent cataclysm. Elon Musk telling the internet something shocking. And meanwhile, there’s us… just sitting in the studio in L.A. trying to make sense of it. We can’t make it make sense, but we can make music. So, my producer, Segnon, plays me this string arrangement with a bluesy bass line and a cracking beat, and the whole song just falls out. The lyrics land on their feet. The next day, we’re asked to choose a song to record live with the LDN Features studio band and, most auspiciously, with a live string section. We meet up in London in the middle of a rainstorm. The room is drenched in red.
