The atrocities described included severe beatings, burning or mutilation of hands, biting the flesh off the faces, arms and other body parts, freezing or starving to death.In 1610 the authorities arrested Elizabeth and four of her servants, who were accused of being her accomplices. The authorities reportedly found one girl dead and some lock up.Elizabeth was sentenced to life imprisonment in her chamber and stonemasons were brought to wall up the windows and doors leaving the Elizabeth inside. They left a small hole through which food could be passed. She remained there for four years, until her death.
