Studiopolis Zone Act 1 [16 bit; Sega Genesis] - Sonic Mania MegaBaz 2023-07-29 | Hey there! I'm back with a song that I've tried to remix before, but this time I did it right lol. The Sonic Mania OST and Tee Lopes himself inspired me to take music more seriously, so I have a lot of respect for this song, and even more for that insane piano solo that it has, but I'm happy that I finally managed to transcribe it. I had a lot of fun with the sound design here, I mostly tried to make the remix sound faithful to the original, (cause I'm tired of those remixes that just use sonic instruments and call it a day) but I think that the highlight of it is the imitation of the Mania brass of power, I spent like a whole hour designing that, but I think it ended up sounding pretty decent; another interesting point is that I used a "polyphonic" instrument for those synth "strings" that play in the background, and since that kind of instrument allows me to play 2 or more notes at once, the remix sounds like it's using more channels than the genesis has.*Special thank to elpichonart for helping me out with that gorgeous pixel art animation that they did, please go check their art out: twitter.com/elpichonart*Remix produced by me in Furnace Tracker.

I made this one time I was trying to create a new music genre (insane, ikr) but I don't think I accomplished that at all lol, it still sounds really nice tho. I worked really hard on this, I had to render a lot of isolated samples and then chop them and arrange them in creative ways, I don't remember exactly how much time it me to complete it back then but it surely was a month at least. Another thing that I worked hard on was the mix, the render I had from 2 years ago sounded really bad so I had to mix the whole song again. HERE HE IS, I DIDN'T FORGET ABOUT HIM THIS TIME.I started to remix this song to challenge myself, and oh boy did I have a challenge. When I got to the drop, I started to regret all my life choices up to this point because I couldn't find the right chords and I was going insane. This was though ngl, there's a lot happening in the background and I had a hard time trying to understand and optimize everything for the Megadrive. PAKU - asmi (Arrangement) [8 Bit; VRC6] MegaBaz 2023-02-05 | Started this as a test song to try Dn-Famtiracker for the first time and also as an exercise to see how many bassline variations and chord changes I could come up with, but I liked it so much that I decided to upload it here. I also tried to recreate the "rap" lines by using pulse channels but it ended up sounding weird so I went for adding them later in post-production (mimicking how the DPCM channel sounds like of course).Also, I can't help it but to point out how similar to "Nothing's Working Out" by meiyo this song is. Morning Glory [8 Bit; VRC6 + MMC5] - Tatsuro Yamashita MegaBaz 2022-12-24 | A different kind of song to close this year, thank you so much for all your support during 2022, I can't believe we are already 30k people!This is one of my favorite "japanese city pop" songs and it sounds like the fairy fountain theme from Zelda, so I decided to give it a try.I'm impressed by how many variations of the same bassline the composer created, every 4 beats of the song has a different one, even at the end where he justs repeats the same chords and melody, Tatsuro Yamashita really knows how to keep a song interesting. I think the hardest part of this remix was fixing all the clashing that was happening between the "whoo" voices and the piano, it was a lot, but it was worth it in the end. Enjoy this World (Cyber Space 3-6) [8 Bit; VRC6] - Sonic Frontiers MegaBaz 2022-12-07 | I decided to do this one to see how famitracker handles dubstep sound effecs (I don't know the technical name), I did my best so I hope it's good. Designing the instruments on this one was a lot of fun, specially the one that plays in the chorus that sounds like distorted high-pitched voices and the dubstep ones of course. Humerus Showdown - Underfunkin OST MegaBaz 2022-11-19 | Not the usual kind of video on the channel, but I hope that's okay. I had quite the journey composing songs for Underfunkin', I had to find the right balance between memorability and difficulty when it comes to creating melodies since a lot of FNF songs just spam random notes on top of a soulsess instrumental base, and I didn't feel like doing that. Chainsaw Man Opening - Kick Back [8 Bit; VRC6] MegaBaz 2022-10-18 | **FEEL FREE TO USE THIS REMIX ON YOUR VIDEOS AS LONG AS YOU CREDIT ME**I don't know much about Chainsaw Man yet, but the opening slaps so hard that I had to remix it. This was one of the hardest songs I've covered so far, the mixing it had made it very difficult for me to hear some chords, specially the ones the guitar plays, so I had to get help from a guitar and a bass cover, and then, guess the notes of the little ornaments based on the scale of the song. I also went a bit crazy with the sound design, the most fun part of it was trying to recreate the little scream that appears sometimes haha. Here you can appreciate the new brass section I designed in a much better way, also, the self reverb is nuts on this one. SPY x FAMILY Ending [8 Bit; VRC6] | Kigeki/Comedy by Gen Hoshino MegaBaz 2022-04-30 | I wanted to make the short version at first, but then I got carried away by the beautiful chords this song has, and I've been a Gen Hoshino's fan for a while so I thought this was a good opportunity to bring one of his songs to the channel.This one took Famitracker to its absolute limit at some parts, I even had to use a technique called instrument juggling, which is basically when a melody moves from one channel to another in order to be completey played instead of cut before it ends due to channel limitations.
