Hummingbird Builds a Nest Kay Little 2016-08-15 | In April of 2016, I noticed a hummingbird building a nest on a small potted tree on the patio of the Lakeside Union School District. Since it was in a secluded area, I could set up my camera on a tripod and record while I was inside working. This video is a compilation of my recording, from April 13th to May 24th when the babies left their nest.

It is amazing to get so close to these little creatures who are usually so territorial. It all started when I stood next to our backyard feeder to take pictures. As the birds began to trust me, I got closer and closer, and then tried hand feeding them with the hand-held feeder that I ordered online. Using QR Codes to Learn About Weather Kay Little 2014-03-12 | In this iPad lesson, students in 2nd grade used QR Codes to find out important facts about weather. Students got into groups, then each students was given a different type of weather to become an expert on. Students scanned QR codes that were placed around the room, and kept track of their facts using a collaborative wall on Padlet. Students shared their new information with their group members.
