MAIL: Kaplan Cycles LLC 200 West Main St. STE 4 Vernon, CT 060661974 HARLEY-DAVIDSON 90 SHORTSTERKaplan Cycles2025-08-08 | ๐ฅ Feast Your Eyes on Fast Kellyโs 51-Year-Old Harley Shortster X-90๐ฅ This is the real deal: a 1974 Harley-Davidson X90, also known as the "SHORTSTER" or AMF 90. Itโs a full-suspension, clutch-operated, rowdy little 2-stroke screamer that puts most 4-stroke minis from the era to shame. This one has just 1,407 original miles, and itโs a true survivor with nearly all original parts still intact.
๐๏ธ Bike Overview: Model: Harley-Davidson X90 (AMF 90)
Year: 1974 (51 years old)
Engine: 90cc 2-stroke
Miles: 1,407 original miles
Transmission: Manual with full clutch
Suspension: Front & rear โ full suspension
Condition: Unrestored survivor โ sold as-is with great bones
โ Whatโs Original: Original tank and paint โ still in good condition
Original speedometer, grips, seat cover, intake, and carb
Original engine cases โ clean and solid
Original cycle parts โ exhaust, fenders, controls, etc.
Even has the custom โFast Kellyโ tank art โ love it or paint it!
๐ง What It Needs: A basic mechanical refresh to get running
Has spark โ should fire right up
Optional: tank repaint (or leave it with โFast Kellyโ for patina points)
Tune-up: fuel system, carb clean, fluids, etc.
๐ฌ From the Seller: โWeโve had dozens of these Harley X90s through our shop โ this oneโs a gem. Low miles, original, and unmolested. It just needs a little love and wrench time.โ โFast Kelly owned it โ and weโre just going to assume she earned the nickname on this bike.โ ๐ โWith an 8-month service backlog, weโre letting this one go as-is at a lower price. Fix it yourself and save big.โ
๐ Why the X90 is Special: The X90 was AMF-era Harleyโs answer to the minibike craze, and it blew the competition away with full-size bike features in a compact package. A two-stroke engine with real clutch control and suspension meant these bikes were made to rip, not just putt around the yard.
Theyโve become highly collectible, especially in original condition with low mileage like this one.

๐ True Survivor โ One Summer of Use, 747 Miles! ๐ Up for auction is one of the lowest-mileage original 1970 Honda CT70 Trail 70s weโve ever come across. This iconic mini trail bike was born in January of 1970 (per date code) and was ridden one summer before being parked in a garage for nearly 50 years. It has only 747 original miles, making it an extremely rare time capsule and a perfect foundation for restoration or preservation.
๐๏ธ Key Highlights: 747 original miles
Original paint, decals, and parts
Original plastic fuel tank โ no rust!
Original tires โ in mint condition with no dry rot visible
Original seat upholstery โ excellent shape
Original folding handlebars โ perfectly straight (rare!)
Original switchgear, tail light, and frame hardware
Kicks over with strong compression โ engine turns freely
Good chrome base โ some rust from garage storage
Never crashed โ frame and forks are straight
Stored indoors since 1970
๐ง What It Needs: This CT70 is being sold as a survivor restoration candidate. While it is 100% complete and in remarkable shape for its age, it will need the following to make it shine:
Cosmetic chrome restoration (send to New England Chrome Plating)
Paint and decals (or leave as-is for full patina look)
Fuel system clean & engine service
General mechanical refresh to get running
Thatโs it โ this is NOT a parts bike or lipstick on a pig. All the original parts are there, and the bones are exceptional.
๐ Comparable Sales: Several have sold at Mecum for over $10,000 and We recently sold another CT70 with 5,700 miles for $6,250 on eBay. This one? Only 747 miles, and in better cosmetic shape. The reserve is much lower, priced for someone who wants to build equity with sweat, not dollars.
๐ฌ From the Seller: "This is hands-down one of the cleanest, straightest, lowest-mile original CT70s weโve had in years. Itโs been in our backlog for 6 months waiting for restoration โ if it doesnโt sell, weโll do it ourselves and list it north of $6,000." โ Ken Kaplan "You simply canโt find these with original paint, chrome, seat, tires, AND under 1,000 miles." โ Junior
