This track is part of the upcoming "Rate Our Music #14: RYM Goes To Hell", the fourteenth installment in the Rate Our Music series, where users of the Rate Your Music forums submit their own music that they created to turn into a concept album. As such, most of these albums contain a central theme, and the theme for this year is "Dante's Inferno/The 9 Circles of Hell".

This song was written for Treachery, the 9th circle, and is sort of a symphonic black metal/breakcore hybrid. The song was also loosely based on a hidden Easter Egg found in Microsoft Excel 95, also called the "Hall of Tortured Souls", which inspired both the lyrics and the cover art. I collaborated with Gleaming Passage of Time (also known as [~ImaginaryBox] on RYM) for this track. We both wrote riffs for the song and he recorded them on guitar. I added the main elements along with it, such as the breakcore drums, MIDI bass, and general arrangement of the song. Then I asked my friend Nightmare Lyre to produce and mix the song. She contributed synths as well as lyrics and vocals to the final product, and finally I contributed backup vocals as well as lyrics in Toki Pona near the end.

Yes, not only is this the first time I've sang in a song, but I also did metal vocals, which I've never done before.
