SOLO STEPPIN CRETE BOY new 2023-10-13 | I’m on the way out y’all ❤️ I’ll dig up as many scraps as I can find for the peopleTLDR: I've been spending way too much time editing cod and it's been eating into my social life and personal time. While I enjoy it, I’ve noticed my best memories come from times spent with others, not while editing. So, I'm thinking of cutting back on editing to make room for stuff that might matter more in the long run. I doubt future me will regret it. Full:I’m spreading myself too thin and giving editing cod far too high of a priority. I’ve been doing this for way too many years, choosing editing over hanging out with friends, family, school, and work. I need to focus on what actually matters and less so on editing.While it’s still fun and I have a ton of motivation to edit, it’s already taking up far too much time. It was a great hobby, but it has at times crossed into the realm of an unhealthy obsession, considering how short life is—especially how brief young adulthood is. I’d rather be doing less isolated activities than editing alone, which is basically the only way I ever edited productively.I’m not saying I won’t come back; I’m sure there will be a song or edit that makes me want to make the odd edit here and there. But as I zoom out and reflect on the last few years, I think more about the times I wasn’t editing alone (trips, concerts, events, hanging with friends, work) as my good memories. I’m not saying I didn’t enjoy editing, just that I got a lot less out of it given the time I invested in it.It came down to, in 10 years am I going to look back on this age and think, "Damn I wish I edited cod for a few more years"? It's hard to predict the future but I find it extremely unlikely that's how I'll think.
