Episode 43 of the ongoing Halemaʻumaʻu eruption was one for the history books. For over 9 hours, we watched fountains roar to heights of 1,300 feet, but the fallout was intense. We officially lost the V1 camera after it took a beating from a 9-hour tephra storm. 🛡️🔥
The volcano was throwing "football-sized" rocks (6-inch tephra bombs) as far as the Volcano Golf Course, with ash reaching Hilo! Check out the footage of the V1 losing visuals as the tephra began to stack up.

Fountains: Peak heights of 1,300+ feet (400 meters).
