Playing God | Polyphia (piano cover) Victor 2024-10-01 | From the album "Remember That You Will Die" by Polyphia.The arrangement was mainly based on TG Piano's version. In order to maintain the flow I was aiming for, the left hand was generally toned down while additional runs were added throughout. 1:55-2:27 is originally a build up but I wanted to try incorporating a different mood, thus this section was used as a build down instead. The section towards the end, where Tim Henson explained having used an arpeggiator during songwriting, was a huge struggle for me. I ended up going with some simplified arpeggios and one longer run tying into the last section of the arrangement. Several bars towards the end of the arpeggiator section were actually left out because I didn't know how to make it work... All in all, I am quite happy with how it turned out. Aqua | Ryuichi Sakamoto Victor 2023-08-10 | From the 1988 album BTTB by Ryuichi Sakamoto (1952-2023).Being a musician of wide range in terms of both style and genre, Ryuichi especially excelled in composing beautiful minimalistic pieces and Aqua is no exception. One could call this a minimalistic (or lazy) arrangement since it is nearly unchanged from the original up until the keychange at 4:10, where it unfolds into several livelier variations.
The Dragonborn Comes (Skyrim) | Jeremy Soule (piano cover) Victor 2022-09-09 | Although having never played the game, I was still a victim of the countless "arrow in the knee"-memes emerging all over the internet after its release.My initial plan was to make an arrangement of the Dragonborn version sung by Sabina Zweiacker, however I might have ended up diverging a fair amount from the source material... The first part of the arrangement is pretty similar in structure but I wanted to convey an overall more directionless athmosphere in the themes. The accompaniment here is also supposed to feel lighter compared to the original. At 2:20 a new theme based on a chord progression from the source was added, functioning as a slow build-up towards the climactic part at 4:08. The melody at 5:03 is one of my favorite parts from the original Dragonborn theme, thus I extended it and used it as a build-down(?) towards the ending.
