Pyramid Speedbuild! Domino Wars Week 1 Entry
updated
Building this machine sure was a rollercoaster lol. I started building this in early 2022 at about the same time I built my Canceled Collab Machine, right after taking down CRM 13 and applying my new table coverings. I was so excited to finally build a new machine after months of CRM 13 sitting there gathering dust. Over the next few months I made two tricks, both of which I loved and had a lot of fun making. (Momentum Gear Slider, Perpendicular Flexogram Slide) From the start I could tell this would be my best machine yet, as my new table coverings and better adhesives made the tricks super clean and made Machine 13 look like a scotch tape-laden mess in comparison. The future was looking bright for this machine, but then... out of nowhere, every single ounce of inspiration that I had to build this machine just completely died. For months, this thing just sat there. I'd occasionally build a trick or two, but either they would break or stop working over time, or I'd scrap them because I didn't like them enough. I think the Unfolding Box was the only trick I made during this time period that I kept in the machine. Months went by and 2023 rolled around, and the machine was still in virtually the same state as it was months before, albeit a bit dustier. I worked even less on the machine than I did the year before, with the Tipping Trash Can being the only real big trick I made. I think I started working on the Reznor Launch too, but didn't get far. The table became more of a storage table for random junk than a machine table, despite the few tricks that were on it. Progress was almost nonexistent until 2024, when, at last, the wheels started turning again. Slowly, and incredibly inconsistently, I finally started chipping away at the second half of the machine. I would essentially alternate between a week where inspiration was high and I'd build a bit, and then several weeks where I would build nothing. And then, by early August, after two and a half years of "work", it was finally done. You have no idea how good it felt to finally be done with this 39 second machine lol. The filming process was pretty average, not much to write home about. It did have more fails than I was expecting (162), but honestly, I've had machines that've failed worse. Much, much worse.
Overall, I'm very proud of how this machine turned out, and I think it's definitely my best one yet. In the grand scheme of things, it's pretty short, but there are a lot of tricks in this one that I really like, and I think it's a big step up from my previous machines. Now that this is done, hopefully I can start making more machine videos, like potentially a screenlink or two? Who knows. I'm looking forward to seeing how my style continues to grow and develop in the future. Thanks for watching!

After Jude extended the deadline I decided to rebuild this and actually get it to work this time. I definitely like my entry much more now that I have a legitimate working take 👍

Not sure if this is on time (it’s probably not) but I’ll post it anyway. This is simultaneously the dumbest thing that I have ever made and the best thing that I’ve ever made lol

Just got back from a vacation and whipped this out within an hour. Honestly the falldown was a bit of a mess with the entire last part of the setup falling prematurely due to a stray falling domino, but the deadline is in two hours so I kinda have to go with it. Anyway, Domino Wars is back at last! Judes Dominoes has rebooted the iconic contest previously hosted by ZC Toppling, Miracle Whip Dominoes, and (in 2022) B16 Dominoes. The goal for this week was to make the best domino line, although we were allowed to spice it up a bit with splits and whatnot. When I found out that we were allowed to use string and tape, I basically just had a field day with that idea lol. I used lots of string and elevations and most of the techniques that we were allowed to use. Kinda wish the falldown had gone better, but for a one hour setup, I think it turned out pretty well. Looking forward to seeing where Domino Wars 2023 goes from here! Good luck to everyone entering :)

Working on this was quite an experience haha. I’ve been planning to make a new PR for a while now, but I never really put it into effect until now. My mom graciously allowed me to use the room for a month or two, and she even let me move the computer and the big chair out of the room, so I’d have even more room. Work on the setup started in early August. Funny thing, I originally had the white table in the back of the room instead of the front, and I had a section composed entirely of old Domino Rally dominoes under it. And let me tell you, building under a table with old Domino Rally dominoes (the ones with the little bump on the bottom that annoy me to no end) was one of the most agonizing experiences I’ve ever had with dominoes lol. I got it done, but the amount of minor topples I had under the table was painful to say the least, and just building that one part took about 2 weeks of inconsistent work. In early September I filled some more space... and then the one major fail that I had during the building process occurred, and oh boy was it something. During the weeks I was building, there was heavy construction work happening very close to my house. And on one day, the construction work must have been really really stinking heavy because it sent actual vibrations through the floor. The dominoes on the floor didn’t budge, but the table was somewhat unstable, and one leaning domino toppled... and you can probably guess what happened next. I wasn’t even in the room when it fell, and by the time I got to the setup, it was too late to stop it. Most of the stuff on and under the table fell, and so did some of the stuff around it, although luckily the stuff around the desk stayed standing. So yeah, thanks construction workers. In total I’d estimate about 1,000 dominoes fell, which could’ve been a lot worse, but this was crushing when it happened. I had suffered for such a long time with the Domino Rally dominoes only for it to all be for nothing. This accident killed a lot of my motivation to keep working on the setup, and for the next few weeks I didn’t get much done, aside from removing the table, since I did NOT want to deal with the stuff under it again, and also I didn’t want to risk a second vibration related mishap. So the setup basically just sat there for a couple weeks, although I’m pretty sure that I did build the finale structure in that time. And trust me, after you’ve had one accidental topple and you leave a setup standing for a month, the paranoia really starts to kick in. Every time the construction workers were active outside, I was really nervous that something else could fall at any time. After a while, my mom said that my time for having a monopoly on the building room was running out, and that I’d have to finish the setup within a week. At that point, I decided not to make it a pr setup and decided to just fill part of the space and call it a day. And then on the final day, I spontaneously decided that as long as I had the space, I might as well go for the new record. So during that day, I built a LOT. I literally filled the entire empty half of the room to make up for the lost time, and right at the end I even decided to add the table back in to give the setup a bit more height, and because the construction work was done for the day so I had nothing to worry about. Near the end of the day I was getting pretty stressed that I wouldn’t be able to finish in time, and I had to really rush some of the stuff near the front of the room. That’s why a lot of the sections beneath and around the table seem a bit messier than the other stuff. I finished at around 11:00, and by that time, after building for literally 5 or 6 straight hours, I was REALLY tired. And so, at almost midnight, I finally knocked it down. And... the falldown didn’t really go well lol. The setup had like 9 or 10 fails, which is frankly pretty predictable if you’ve seen my other videos haha. Most of the fails just came from weird flukes in tricks probably caused by rushed building, although there were a couple of really dumb mistakes I made, like thinking the platform could pull down the marble run. Despite the awful falldown, I still think this turned out pretty well. I’m a bit disappointed by the bad falldown and by the lack of structures (I had to rush to get it done so I didn’t really build many structures) but still, I’m pretty proud of it. If you look past the fails, then I think this is easily one of my best videos yet, and I’m glad that I could finally break my pr again. Thanks for watching! And also reading this whole massive description lol

Decided to whip out a quick last minute entry to this contest, think it turned out pretty nice.
After we decided to call it quits, I asked Duplex if I could upload the mini machine as its own video, since it would be such a shame to let that fun little machine be lost forever. Also, I had uploaded almost no machine related stuff in 2022, so I wanted to post an actual machine thing before the year was over. She gave me permission to upload it, and as a result, the only real traditional, intricate tabletop style machine I built in 2022 was released to the public, over half a year after it was finished. So despite the sad backstory, I hope you still enjoy the machine! It feels good to finally post a machine, even if it's tiny lol. I think overall it turned out pretty solid, and it's good to finally see an actual machine in which I use my two beloved new adhesives, hot glue and industrial double sided tape. These two things definitely make my machine style much more clean and professional than it was before, and I'm hoping I build more machine stuff in 2023 so I can expand the professionalism of my style even more. Anyway, thanks for watching!

Oh also fun fact one trick in this machine was inspired by/ripped off from an old classic machine video that's since been deleted. If anyone knows what trick and what video it is I'll pin your comment. It's been privated so if you haven't seen the video you won't be able to get it, but hey, if you know you know.
Thanks for watching, and Happy Halloween!
This is my entry for the H5 Domino Community 30 Minute Challenge. The challenge is (surprisingly) to make the best setup in 30 minutes. There are no limitations to your setup other than the timer itself. I made yet another collapsing board setup lol, I don't know why but I really like making setups with falling boards. I'm overall pretty happy with this; I think the colors look nice and the tipping board ending is pretty neat. Also pretty happy that it worked 100%. Fun fact: this was the first and only attempt that I did at this challenge, whereas usually with these challenges I knock something down prematurely and am forced to start over. I also had to build this setup in my hallway rather than my standard building room, because I'm currently working on a really big video in my usual space. I might not post too much for the next couple weeks, but trust me, this video will be worth it in the end... :O
Thanks for watching! Hope you liked it Lily!

Uploaded this 3 minutes before the deadline lol. This is why you shouldn’t procrastinate and build nothing until the deadline like me, I spent 3 and a half straight hours working on this and I am really tired now xD Not a bad video though, considering it was thrown together in less than a day. Thanks for watching!
#dominowars2022
This is my entry for Domino Wars 2022 Week 9, where the goal is to make the best setup with 200 dominoes or less, and no other foreign objects. This setup took 3 attempts to get it to work. It uses only 196 dominoes and no tape, string, or anything else. This is both the smallest and biggest setup I’ve ever made lol. Pretty proud of this for something I whipped together two hours before the deadline honestly, I’m really happy the skydiving domino ending worked.
Thanks for watching! Hope this gets a good placement because one of the attempts of this setup destroyed another setup that I was working on haha

Decided to put a bit more effort into my entry this week and make a screenlink, pretty happy with how it turned out. I probably would have reset the fails but I was on a time crunch. Hopefully this is valid lol
I've had an idea of doing something like this for a while, but never really got around to it. One day I wanted to build something, but didn't have any ideas, so I decided to come back to this old idea. I used most of the same central ideas and color combinations, but also threw in a few new additions to make the setup better. (Like using two shades of pink in the last section, although that may or may not be because I ran out of light pink haha) This was a fun one to build because I didn't have to think too hard about ideas, I could just use most of the original's base ideas and add a few new ideas for fun. In all honesty, I was not expecting a perfect topple; I expected to probably have one or two fails, but having the setup fall perfectly was such a nice surprise! Especially considering the video I was basing this off of had one of the worst falldowns in domino history xD Overall, I really like this setup. I really like the concept of taking a terrible video and making it good, and I think this setup utilizes this theme well. It's really cool to see just how much my style has grown over time, and I think that I have improved drastically over 4 years. I think I've definitely redeemed myself from the original SS4 :)

Yet another last minute entry that I built on the day of the deadline lol. Probably would’ve reset the fails but it’s deadline day so I had to get it out fast. This is a cute little setup that I built at my grandma’s house in an hour. I tried to include quite a few satisfying tricks to meet with the challenge. Enjoy!

Domino Wars is back for the third year! B16 Dominoes got permission from ZC Toppling to host the third season of this highly successful contest. The challenge for the first week was to make the best setup with every single domino touching the ground. (It’s actually a bit harder than you might think, you really have to carefully think about what tricks to use) I didn’t use any non-domino accessories or tape in my entry, and every single domino is touching the floor pre-topple. I didn’t count the dominoes in the setup, but I’d estimate that there were around 700. My setup was originally going to have only 4 sections, but as I built more my ambition grew bigger and bigger haha. There was only one fail, which is not too bad. (Why do sonimod triggers always fail me 😂) I really like how this turned out, I think all the color sections look really good together.

This is my entry for Hevesh5’s 5 Second Screenlink Clip Challenge. The challenge is to build the best screenlink clip that topples within 5 seconds. In this setup a long, thin box falls down the stairs lol. I’ve wanted to do something like this since my DLU Week 2 entry, where I used this same box to go over the stairs. I had the idea to make the box fall from the stairs, and wanted to implement it into a future setup, but never got around to it till now. Hope you enjoy my shortest video ever xD
These clips actually mark a significant turning point in my machine building style, for several reasons. And the main reason is that these are the first machine things that I built using hot glue as an adhesive. For many years I've simply used scotch tape to secure things in my machines, and despite its popularity among other builders, I've always refused to use hot glue because I was scared of damaging my materials. For these clips however, I decided to opt for a more professional approach, and so I finally surrendered and used the glue. And man, it made these clips soooo much cleaner than my other stuff. Objects don't wobble and shake like they used to. I definitely will continue using hot glue in the future, and I'm excited to see the potential it unlocks! Also, you might notice that I got new table coverings! When I decided I was going to use hot glue, I knew it wouldn't work well at all with the sickeningly flexible surface of my folding table. So me and my dad went out to Home Depot and bought some table coverings! (it's actually a type of flooring, but it works great as a covering. TheContraptionKing recommended this brand, you can get it here: homedepot.com/p/TrafficMaster-Arbour-Hickory-Gray-7-mm-Thick-x-8-03-in-Wide-x-47-64-in-Length-2-Strip-Laminate-Flooring-23-91-sq-ft-case-360731-26976/311523795) I actually got it like half a year ago, and never got around to applying it since CRM 13 was taking up my table. However, I did finally put it on a week or two ago and it looks great! This covering works pretty well with hot glue, looks beautiful aesthetically, and is simply great to machines on. I'd definitely recommend it. You also might notice that the coverings aren't on my typical table, which is, once again, because of CRM 13 occupying my table, so I had to build on another table.
You might be able to tell that one of the biggest influences on these clips was jackofallspades98's 50 Fundamental Chain Reaction Mechanisms series, in which he showed off various essential connections and techniques for machines. This series introduced me to tons of mechanisms that I wasn't too familiar with, or had never seen before at all! You can see many things from 50FCRM in this video, such as String Wrap, Compression Rod Release, Knex Rod Lock, Shock Absorber, String Pusher, and quite a few more. (Challenge: see if you can find them all.) I found myself really loving all of these mechanisms, and I'll certainly utilize them more in later machines. Check out the series if you haven't already: youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJc_biUk0i74jFg5ebL83b28OXqNJ1CrC
Here are some of my thoughts on the clips:
Clip 1 (Rotating Track Module) I am legit prouder of this one clip than some of my full-length machines lol. It honestly feels more like a mini machine than a screenlink clip. This clip was originally intended to be much smaller, but as I built, my ambition kept getting bigger and bigger and the clip grew with it. And I'm super proud of the result; I love how many uses of the track there are, and the clip looks super neat and clean because of the wooden tracks and the table coverings. This clip took a really long time to make, and had quite a bunch of fails (57) but I really think it was all worth it.
Clip 2 (Chinese Yo-Yo Flip) I was on kind of a time crunch to make this clip, so it's not nearly as good as the other one, but I still think it came out pretty good. Gabe asked me to make a fairly simple clip to fill a transition near the start of the video, and so I made this lol. It was fairly easy to make, although the chinese yo-yo did come unglued several times, which was kinda annoying. It's nothing mindblowing, but I think it does its job of being a simple clip well.
Also funny thing, this clip had 13 fails and literally all of them were caused by the ball at the start not landing in the cup. I might post a fail compilation of that soon because it's really funny xD
I hope you enjoy these small clips! I'm overall super proud of them, I think they really represent the future of my style. I'm pretty excited about my style in 2022; I think my machines will get a massive professionalism boost, so stay tuned!
Thanks for watching! Also if you read this whole description then you are an absolute legend lol

I admittedly didn’t build too much in 2021 compared to other years. Several times I went for several months without posting, I didn’t host a contest this year, and I only released one full-length machine. Despite the inconsistency, I think this was still a pretty good year for my channel! This year, I hit 300 subscribers, entered all the weeks of Domino Wars 2021, and participated in a few community collabs (such as the H5DC Neon Screenlink, Insane Domino Tricks 2021, and Machine Multiverse.) While I still kinda wish I had posted more, I think this was a good year for my channel. In 2022, my goal is to build and post more than this year, so stay tuned! Many more domino setups and chain reaction machines to come :)
Thanks for watching!

I was originally planning to make a Christmas screenlink this year, but I only managed to get two clips done, so I wound up canceling it. I was pretty sure I wouldn’t be able to release a Christmas video this year. However, when we went to my grandma’s for Christmas, I brought a bag of 300 Christmas colored dominoes just in case I wanted to build anything. When we were putting together a Christmas train set, I got the idea to build a Christmas setup inside the tracks and integrate the train into the setup. Conveniently, I also had a bin of wooden dominoes there, so I had even more dominoes to use. And so, I ended up with a Christmas special to compensate for the canceled screenlink. (Might make a screenlink next year, who knows) I was honestly pretty impressed with the setup’s falldown, I expected several fails due to the risky nature of the setup, but there was just one fail. And honestly, that fail is quite possibly the funniest fail I’ve ever had, it’s so unlikely and random that it’s just hilarious. Part of me is kind of mad because if it hadn’t been for that one weird fluke, the setup would’ve actually worked perfectly, but the fail is just so funny that I’m almost glad it happened 😂
Overall, I think this is pretty good considering I was on a strict time crunch and only had access to 300 professional dominoes. While it’s not as big or interesting as my other Christmas stuff, I still kinda like it. I’m really proud of the way the train interacts with the dominoes, it reminds me of the 2nd place setup from Conrad’s contest tribute video.
Glad I could squeeze out a quick Christmas video! Thanks for watching and merry Christmas!
This machine has basically been sitting in my room unfinished for over half a year, and I just now got around to finishing it. A lot of stuff in the machine eventually broke down and stopped working well, and I didn't really feel like fixing them, so this machine pretty much just sat there. And after a while, this thing honestly started getting in the way. Because of this machine, I couldn't apply my new table coverings and I had to build my Machine Multiverse clips on a different table. After many months of this machine just sitting there gathering dust, I made a decision to finally finish this thing, no matter how long it took. And surprisingly, after I fixed a lot of the broken parts of the machine, it didn't take too many tries to get it to work! The resets were admittedly pretty annoying since the machine wasn't very stable and almost any vibration would set another part off, but it only took 49 tries, which is pretty low compared to most of my other stuff. Additionally, this is also the first video I edited with Shotcut. I'm not sure if this will be my permanent editor since there are a few annoying things with it, but it's still a step up from my old one xD
Overall, I'm pretty happy with the turnout of this machine. While I honestly wouldn't consider it one of my best machines, there are quite a few tricks in this one that I really like (such as the track pusher cup, the card slide, and the double-layer billiard ball chain.) It was built a while ago, so it's not nearly as clean or professional as some of my newer stuff (like my Machine Multiverse clips, close-up video for those coming soon) but still, I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. At this point I'm mostly just glad that I can finally take this thing down xD

I just never got around to editing it, so sorry for the wait xD Anyway, I like how this setup turned out, even though the falldown had more fails than I would've liked. The first half of the setup worked great, but the second half failed a lot. Still, I think this setup is pretty good, and I honestly really like the beach section and the chicken field section. Hope you like this Suggested Setup revival :)

Over a year ago, wandom won my Domino Compilation Contest with a super impressive 9 minute screenlink. One of his prizes was a collaboration with me. Our first collab had turned out really well, so we were excited to make another, even better video together. He suggested that we theme our video around mixtures of clear and solid dominoes, and thus, this video was born. This video took a long time to make since we were both pretty busy, but I think the final video turned out amazing. I feel like our clips were even better than last year's, with lots of nice colors and diverse tricks. The video has a really smooth flow, complimented by the calming music and the grand total of zero fails. I must also mention wandom's amazing editing job; he did a great job with pacing the video with the music, with the faster parts of the video at the more heightened parts of the song and a calming, peaceful sideways domino section during the slow part of the song. He also put in a few music syncs (the one at 3:30 is just perfection) and just overall did a great job on this video. Check out his channel, he's an amazing builder!

The second machine was made a couple days ago for this Halloween. Sadly, I couldn't finish the machine in time to use it on trick-or-treaters. I finished building it the day after Halloween and got it to work the night after that. Even though I didn't actually use it to give candy, I still really like this machine! Despite being very simple, there are still a few interesting tricks, like the swinging ghost and the streamer trick.
So yeah, I really hope you like this video! It's nice to finally post something after 2 months of nothing. :D I have been working on some bigger videos, like contest tributes and some collabs. Another Suggested Setup is also coming soon, I just need to finish editing it. Thanks for watching, and I hope you all had a great Halloween!
Also special thanks to my sister for being the trick-or-treater in both machines and putting up with like 15 fails. Such a good sport xD
This is my entry for the latest H5 Domino Community challenge, the Space Constraint Challenge. For this contest, you have to create the best setup in a square yard. The last time I made a setup like this was for BE Domino’s Cubic Meter Contest. That setup had an abysmal falldown, so I’m glad I had the chance to redeem myself. This time, I tried to make the tricks a bit more reliable, but there were still some really risky parts. I was pleasantly surprised when the whole setup worked perfectly without failing! As you can tell by my reaction, I was pretty happy xD
There were several parts that I expected to fail, and luckily they worked. Overall, I think I have definitely redeemed myself from my last video of this style. I incorporated a few hybrid tricks that I really like (such as the board collapse and the zipline) and the fact that this whole thing worked perfectly is crazy, especially by my standards 🤣
I hope you enjoyed, Hevesh5! Thanks for watching!
Anyway, if you remember, half a year ago I got to build a machine for Domino Mania 2020, an awesome collab that shows off the styles of several different builders. I had a lot of interesting thoughts on the tricks in this machine, so I decided I’d make a super detailed bts video! The footage for this video was filmed back in January and February, and I just never got around to finishing the editing process. The video covers my thoughts and the building process of the tricks in this machine, and also includes a fail compilation and a timelapse of me taking down the machine. The video ended up being over 25 minutes long, and it’s super in-depth. So... yeah, I hope you enjoy this incredibly late video!

This is my entry for the tenth and final week of Domino Wars 2021. The challenge for this week was to make the best setup with 1,500 dominoes or less. This setup contains ten sections, and each of them are a mini replica of a Domino Wars 2021 challenge. Enjoy!

This is my entry for Week 9 of Domino Wars 2021. I have literally nothing to say about this video except that I built this all in one day lol

This is my entry for the eighth week of Domino Wars 2021. The challenge for this week was to create the best setup with a theme. I chose the theme of bridges for my entry. Enjoy!

About a month ago, Hevesh5 announced her new domino challenge, known as the 30 Day Domino Challenge. Rather than a competition like some of the previous H5 Domino Community challenges, the challenge was more of a personal goal to encourage builders to build more. The challenge was to build for at least 30 minutes every day in April. Since sometimes I feel like I don't build consistently enough, I decided to attempt this challenge. I'm happy to say that I completed all 30 days, with no skips! Every day I've been posting what I built that day in the official 30 Day Domino Challenge Discord server. Now that April is over, I decided to compile all the setups I made into one big video. This video contains 30 different setups. (well, technically 29 setups and one picture; that setup is for a secret upcoming video) I think this is without a doubt one of my best videos ever! Hope you enjoy!

This is my entry for the seventh week of the contest Domino Wars, hosted by Miracle Whip Dominoes. This week’s challenge was to create the best setup inside one square foot. I made a setup that combined normal dominoes with mini dominoes. Enjoy!
One thing I like about this setup is the pathing through the setup. The minis go through and around the regular dominoes, then the regular dominoes fall. An interesting detail about this setup is that the colors match the colors of the rulers that I built the setup inside. The section next to the blue ruler is blue, the one next to the purple ruler is purple, and so on. Overall, I think this turned out pretty good, even if there were a few fails. I hope you like it!
