I saw a good deal on Virb 360 on Amazon for £461 (normally £646), but when I started using it the 360 video quality I wasn't happy with and editing was quite awkward, also the camera had a fault where it intermittently wouldn't recognise SD card - reinserting card resolved, but it was really annoying so I returned it for refund.
This was test video at the time.
First test with Garmin Virb 360 light was fading but wanted to grab a few test shots as camera arrived today. This is 2nd attempt to edit, as I discovered you cannot copy video files to PC and then edit, you have to import into Virb edit from card to pickup Gmetrix files which are needed for stabilisation as well as data overlays.
Handheld on a selfie stick
Gokart was clipped onto frame with a plastic extension which wobbled a lot
Bike shot was on a gopro headstrap with a straight extension to raise camera up above head level so rear view not obscured too much
Edited in virb edit software.
Stabilisation applied in Virb edit software but doesn't look to have worked too well on shakey bits maybe due to low light?
Stabilsation modes are follow for the moving clips, stabilised only for handheld, and no stabilisation for tripod (it made the video wobble?).
I don't feel the hassle of 360 is worth it as quality is so grainy/fuzzy, as you are stretching 4k video round the full 360deg it views more like 360p which is well below what we are used to, so its a not from me I'm afraid and i've returned camera for refund.
I'm still really not sure 360 video has much future, other than for overcapture style use, where you film 360 but then select your preferred view/angles when editing to render out as a standard 1080 video, for now the quality to do this just wasn't quite there.
