Violeta Rexhepagiqi was a famous Kosovan singer and news reporter of the 1980’s.
Alongside with her brother Armend Rexhepagiqi she formed the most popular synth-pop duo in Kosovo in the 1980’s called “Vivien”. Their most notable singles were: “Romantika”, “Vivien”, Frymë e erërave të dikurshme”, “Etida , “ Në Egjipt” etc…
Later, she started a solo career, and took part in two editions of the Yugoslav Eurovision song contest selections, representing Kosovo.
In the meantime she worked in Radio Television of Prishtina as a TV reporter, most notably covering the war in Iraq in 1990’s.
In the recent years she worked as a journalist in Radio Television of Kosovo.
She will be remembered as one of the most extravagant and avant-garde figure of Kosovo’s pop revolution culture.
Violeta Rexhepagiqi died on 16 of April 2020.
