A quick demonstration how you can setup a texture to be seen inside the default view shading, this method works for Blender and OctaneRender for blender plus there's a free addon to streamline your workflow in Octane made by Andreas Resch
Octane Tools V0.2.0 ... https://www.argfx.at/upload/octane_tools_0.2.0.zip
Octane Tools V0.3.0 (for Blender 4.x) ... https://www.argfx.at/upload/octane_tools_0.3.0.zip
I've now combined my previous two Octane addons (Random Color Seed & Solo Texture Node) into one and added a new feature - Create Image Node. When you have an Octane image node active and you hit "I", it will create a Blender image node next to it with the same linked image. In doing so, you will be able to see the image texture in Solid mode (when Flat & Texture are set).
Enjoy.
