Line Rider - The Well Tempered Spaghetti OllieMBM 2020-11-02 | This track was created to challenge the concept of what a line is/can be and to showcase the art of technique, something that is often undervalued within the Line Rider Community. Within the track I explore low-speed manuquirk, a style that has yet to be refined as much as others, and attempt to subvert expectations by riding the track in unpredictable ways and recycling areas that, using normal track making techniques, wouldn't be able to be recycled. I also played with the solidity of the lines, sometimes the rider conforms to the curves and rides them but then passes through the same area again and goes straight through the line.My inspiration for creating this track was to blur the line between the quirk and manuquirk communities, and to bring the polar-opposite styles together into a single cohesive style that can be appreciated by either side. I took further inspiration from tracks like The Well Tempered Manual, Spaghetti, Taro, and many other tracks old and new. It's still a bit rough around the edges but hopefully I'll be able to improve on this in the near future.FakeLR is a script written in python that allows the user to generate tracks based off of key presses while listening to music, the script then takes these key presses and translates them into movement. Tracks are recorded in three layers, manuals, line movement, and speed.For track creation without timings, common movements have been turned into simple functions which can be used to dictate movement but the user is required to time these movements manually.I am currently working on the UI for this script, and if completed I will release it to the public.
Line Rider - Idiosyncrasy OllieMBM 2019-06-11 | Created for the concept challenge.This track was made to extend on techniques shown in a previous track (!) and shows the true capabilities of multipliers when used in the right way. Most of the tricks in this track are what I call "multi frame movements" where contact points and momentum vectors are manipulated over several frames to stop, spin, or fling the rider around the track.
