DETROIT RIVER TUNNEL. July 24, 1991. Both Detroit & Windsor sides + other scenes. mygirl22ward 2010-02-20 | First we shoot the Detroit side, then over the bridge to the Windsor side. A roadrailer flashes by after a CN auto-rack train at dusk. More Santa Fe GP-60M's being delivered by CP, and the last shot is the NS barge taking "excess height" cars across the river. Since then they have enlarged the tunnel to handle these cars and the barge traffic has come to an end.

Part TWO. 1225 stalls on Fox Hill.......WHY? Oct. 21, 1990 mygirl22ward 2010-02-12 | Ok 1225 fans, back on Oct. 21, 1990, the 1225 was returning east from Grand Rapids with 20 or so freight cars and could not make it up Fox Hill. I was told by one of the crew why. Do you know? Hopefully your more polite than that A-hole in blue with the coffee cup. He could not stand seeing that CP pass his beloved steam engine. He also went along and picked up the pennys off the rail from the little kids in front of the 1225! Anyone know who this is? I will remember that forever.....

LORAM BALLAST CLEANER Another extreme machine! 1995 mygirl22ward 2010-02-11 | Take a few minutes and watch this machine pick up the ballast, vibrate the mud & dirt from it, wash it, put it back down, level it back around the ties! This was caught at the CSX yard in Grand Rapids, MI. on July 5, 1995. Pretty cool machine from LORAM!

When I give a "consist winner", that means it wont happen again, and trust me, it didnt! They took Consumers Power coal train to Port Sheldon power plant on Feb 15, 1994.

CSX #4316 (EX-RDG) Helps AMTRAK! June 7, 1992 mygirl22ward 2010-02-06 | Amtrak's PERE MARQUETTE gets a helping hand after engine 370 would not start. The only unit CSX had on hand was the 4316, an ex-Reading GP39-2 still in the green and yellow. I could not believe it!!! So the next time you catch the 4316 in CSX blue, this is what she looked like!

THE LAST GP-unit to be built for SP. #9794 Seen being delivered brand new by CP Rail. mygirl22ward 2010-02-01 | Between Grand Rapids outskirts and St. Joseph, Michigan. I managed to catch this train in a typical Michigan winter! The #9794 was the last 4 axle locomotive to be built for SP. Notice the first two flat cars have 3 axle EMD trucks being shipped from the London plant to LaGrange. Evidence that the 6 axle loco's will become the future of the railroad market.

CP Eastbound w/ ALCOs 4563 & 4573! Sept. 94 mygirl22ward 2010-01-30 | Train #202 gets a new crew at the CSX East Tower in Grand Rapids, MI. Then as it departs, it goes into emergency and has to cut out a set of stacks. This gave me a chance to get up close for some ALCO detail on these two. Sadly, never saw either one again... On a happy note, the 4563 which was the worst looking one of the two, was saved from being scrapped and now on display at the Canadian Railway Museum in Quebec!

I only did shows in Michigan and the 1225 was the most popular. Feel free to comment on these, good or bad! I would like to see what people think of them. The last drawing shown I did when I was 14 years old. ( SANTA FE 991 in CA. ) This is well worn, but I still have it. I started out doing pencil, then upgraded to acrylic paint growing up. Now in my 40's, I have painted everything from farm tractors, cars, semi's, boats, houses, cottages, and now LIGHTHOUSES! Since 2001, I am working on my 50th lighthouse painting! If interested, I have 7 left to show on YouTube, they are painted on hanging slate's, great gifts!
