I had to redesign her neck for a third time and tidy up some joint mechanisms for the servo-linear actuators. Right now she's running a set script from a Pololu Maestro. For now, I'm going to be building her head and neck mechanism, but she'll be fully articulated as she is in game. Eventually, I'd love to build her full body, but I'll need a bit more space for that kind of build! This is going to be an ongoing project as she's a complicated robot, but that's the fun of the challenge. They may be 3D printed instead of hard light constructs, but I still think they're pretty cool. Each turret holds a 2W 445nm laser and RGB (Dotstar) leds. This is a simple animatronic version that allows me to control the eyes, ears, and sounds that Snowball makes in the game. Snowball's main processor is a Particle Photon (which is an Arduino compatible board with built-in WiFi. Sounds are stored as MP3s on a 4D systems SOMO II board and connected to a 3 watt speaker. The ears each have a 1" linear actuator from Morai Motion.You can see more of the design in my previous video:youtu.be/WMFNu6x2mfoI will be releasing the 3D files so that you can print your own, but there's a big issue with the ear joints, so I need to fix and reprint that. Once I know everything is working and cleaned up a little bit, I'll post em.
