The theory was that we could trigger activity just by engaging in an activity inmates would have engaged in while incarcerated. We capture orb phenomena and several EVPs from a guy we believe to be named "John" who sat down to play several hands of 5 card draw with us. This was a fantastic session that ended with electronic malfunction, first with our infrared lights, and then with our camera itself.

But, we did investigate for two sessions in this location and this video documents our experiences during the second session.During this session, we continue to have strange experiences around a particular closet. While walking down a hallway, one investigator notices a light coming through a window. We discover the light is coming from a room on this floor that we haven't investigated yet. The light was not on during our first session. We were the only people in the building. We captured a strange disembodied voice upon noticing this. We investigate this so closely because we had turned all of the breaker switches off for this space. The entrance to this space is walled off with a closet in front of it. So, not only did a light come on when the breakers were off, but it's from a room with no access to it. We capture more EVP around this closet and as we finish up the session.Why is this closet walled off? It seems as if the spirits were attempting to draw our attention to it.

But, we did investigate for two sessions in this location and this video documents our experiences during the first session.While doing a walkthrough early in the afternoon of this location, there were some personal experiences including a disembodied voice not captured since we didn't have any equipment running at the time.We began the first session by getting compelling, intelligent interaction with our Mel Meter right off the bat. Both investigators present experienced being touched by a solid object in the middle of a hallway within a minute of each other. We also document two different light anomaly events during this session and finish off by capturing some of the best EVP we have ever captured.During this session there was some strange activity around a particular closet including cold spots, EVP and disembodied voices. This MUST WATCH clip documents an experiment we conducted early in the night which was wildly successful. Prospect Place served as a stop on the Underground Railroad. In order to signal to escaping slaves that it was safe to approach the house, a lantern would be lit in the cupola. We have lit a lamp in the cupola on each of our visits, but this time we approached it differently. We had one team member doing a solo session in the cupola and two team members doing a session in the basement simultaneously. The idea was to set up equipment at each entry point to the basement and have team members there waiting to document paranormal activity when the lantern was lit. We documented changes in EMF with our REM Pod and cold spots with our Mel Meter at each entry point. The level of energy in that space went absolutely nuts when we offered cold drinking water. We also captured VERY compelling, intelligent EVP. While this is a bit longer than most of our clips, you don't want to miss this one.

When we arrived and began setting up our equipment before our cameras were rolling, one team member had been in this space and promised the children that reportedly haunt this area to return later for "story time" . So as not to break our promise, we returned late in the night to do just that.We were able to document cold spots and fluctuating electromagnetic energy with our Mel Meter. In addition, we were able to establish intelligent communication and even captured some EVPs throughout this session.

This space has always been a hot spot for us and it didn't change on this night. During our previous session, we experienced quite a bit of strange activity to we decided to return to this space after a break. We're glad we did.For the second time in this investigation, we captured an orb-like anomaly that flew right into one team member's chest with our FLIR thermal imaging. It was not captured by the full-spectrum camera mounted on the same rig. This would indicate that something was present with a heat signature that was not visible in any spectrum of light. In addition, we captured an intelligent EVP, measured cold spots and received confirmation and had intelligent communication with our Mel Meter. Through this commuication, we confirmed some of the legend surrounding satanic worship that reportedly took place in this room during a period when Prospect Place was abandoned. We also used our Energy Speaker to play trigger music without interrupting our recording of the environment.

Towards the end of the session, we move up to the Cupola. Prospect Place was a stop on the Underground Railroad. George Adams would light a lantern in the Cupola to signal to slaves when it was safe to enter the house through the basement. We always do this in an effort to trigger paranormal activity in the basement. We again experienced fluctuating levels electromagnetic energy. We also documented disturbances in the electromagnetic energy with the REM function on our Mel Meter.

This begins in the Servant's Quarters where we started getting intelligent communication on our Mel Meter pretty much right off the bat. We moved into Quarantine where we had great activity on our last trip. Quarantine did NOT disappoint. We believe that we made direct contact with Constance Cox, who died in this space to tuberculosis in 1898. We experienced intelligent communication on our Mel Meter, cold spots, spikes in electromagnetic energy, we heard footsteps and disembodied voices, we captured EVPs and, two instances of potential poltergeist activity. While we didn't capture it on video, we did capture the sounds and aftermath. Some very WEIRD things going on in this clip. ENJOY!

She is the young daughter of Andrew and Mary Caldwell who, in 1854, died tragically from severe burns after her dress caught fire in the summer kitchen. She is reportedly the most active spirit in the house. This video documents our final session of the night which took place primarily in Mary Elizabeth's room on the second floor. And, this is a really good example of how we, as investigators, sometimes need to build a rapport with a spirit before we can capture any compelling evidence.Earlier in the night, we had tried to initiate contact. At that time, we had sporadic interaction with our Mel Meter. So, we left it in her room and asked her to play with it while we went outside to investigate the Slave House. We told her that we would give her a whole bag of butterscotch and peppermint candy if she were able to learn how to use it and then turn it on and off for us on command when we returned. What we didn't know then is that our Mel Meter alarmed 22 times over the 45 minutes or so that we were outside. When we returned, she almost immediately turned it on and then back off on a specific count. She earned her candy and then continued to interact with us on a very compelling level. This video is longer than our typical videos, but if you have any doubt about the existence of Mary Elizabeth's spirit at Octagon Hall, this should squash them. We document cold spots, EMF changes, disembodied voices, electronic voice phenomenon, interaction on our P-SB7 spirit box, and consistent, intelligent communication with our Mel Meter.

We began by moving around the entire second floor attempting to discover EMF readings. What we found in the master bedroom was unlike anything we've ever experienced. There was a column of cold, moving air in the center of the room with no known source. At the end of this video, we had moved into Mary Elizabeth's room. At one point, we were able to document these devices both coming on when requested and alternating between the REM Pod on the stage and the Mel Meter which was in the balcony on command. We attempted to split up to cover more ground but quickly realized that noise contamination within the building is a big concern. There have been a few areas of the Opera House that have been closed to investigations since the last time we visited. Jeff and Corina headed to the basement while Chris and Jane struggled to find a spot where we weren't contaminating each other's audio. In the end, we all joined together to mitigate that concern and spent the rest of the night together. If you are investigating this location, be careful with this so as not to produce false positives. We sync our audio files and cross-reference them so we were able to eliminate those false positives from our results.Once we settled, we believe we made contact with the spirit that reportedly haunts the basement who has been given the name "Charlie". We had intelligent interaction with him with both our Mel Meter measuring cold spots and our REM Pod measuring disturbances in electromagnetic fields.

We began in the catwalk where we had experienced some activity in 2013. It didn't take long for that activity to occur again as this was easily the best session of the night.There is reportedly the ghost of a little girl named Elizabeth that haunts the catwalk. In 2013, we captured a little girl laughing while in this space. This time, we captured her voice again and she seems to be confirming that it was her that we captured in 2013. In addition, we believe we made contact with the spirit of "Red Wine Robert" who also haunts the catwalk. We experienced intelligent EVP, EMF fluctuations, cold spots, intelligent interaction with our Mel Meter, dragging sounds on the stage below us and this was all just in the first hour of the night.

Tour guides reported that there is evidence to support "something evil" in this space. There are two "suicide bathrooms" up there including one in "Rebecca's Room". Rebecca was a resident who secretly had a baby in her room. To hide it, she stuffed it in a pickle jar and put it in her closet. When her brother came to visit and found out, he reported it to authorities. Rebecca would eventually kill herself in her bathroom. The session was somewhat uneventful, but Jane and Corina did capture three EVPs. The final EVP will send shivers down your spine and would seem to support the idea of something dark in the attic at St. Albans Sanatorium.

Chris and Jane investigated on the East side of the building while Jeff and Corina investigated on the West side. This clip documents this session from the perspective of both groups. Jeff and Corina had pretty consistent activity and some pretty compelling interaction with what they believed to be the spirit of a little girl. Chris and Jane mostly got lost...if you've ever been there you'll know why. But at the end of the session, they captured a couple of the best EVPs of the night. Both of them are class A, intelligent EVPs and one of them seems to be a female being sarcastic about them being lost!

Unfortunately, Rachael was involved in an accident in 1912 in which she knocked over a candle, igniting her night gown. Rachael died three days later in her bedroom from an overdose of morphine purposefully administered by Dr. Gibbons. It is said that Rachael was disfigured by the fire and Dr. Gibbons, being a prominent member of society, couldn't bear that embarrassment. We start off with one team member's solo session in Rachael's room which yielded some interesting disturbances in electromagnetic fields as measured with a REM Pod. We sent another investigator up to do a solo session to see if he could replicate the success. He didn't, but gathered other evidence including documenting cold spots and intelligent communication with a Mel Meter. The pair makes one final return to the space to attempt to debunk the REM Pod activity but are unable to do so. It is at this time that they capture an unexplained female voice that may be Rachael herself.

It is called the "Seance Room" only because it is currently set up that way. On the way to the "Seance Room", we stopped by the Servant's Quarters to replace the batteries in one of our EM Pumps. During that short time we heard and captured a very creepy disembodied voice. We then attempted to do a Spirt Box session in the "Seance Room" but did not capture any responses. However, we did experience intelligent communication with our Mel Meter measuring cold spots and a couple of intelligent EVPs for good measure.

It also reportedly has hooves and the face of a goat.We attempted to make contact with this entity and although we cannot corroborate the visual described, we did experience activity we can't explain. Our investigator who was holding our full-spectrum camera describes feeling the camera either being pushed or pulled away from him while being shut off at the same time. If that's not enough, the video file for that session was corrupted and unrecoverable. Thankfully, we were set up in front of one of our DVR cameras so the whole thing was captured on video. This was our second visit to Thornhaven Manor. We have experienced things inside of this house that we just don't in other locations. Something here is more powerful than most. We started to get hits on our Mel Meter measuring cold spots. We then moved into the children's room. We brought Lizzie, a little girl that is said to haunt the house, a toy and a lollipop. We were also told that there is a "whistler" in Ward V. Towards the end of the night, Jane decided to head back to base camp a bit early while Jeff and Chris finished up the night in Ward V. Jane was outside with staff during this session so we know that Chris and Jeff were the only two living people inside this massive asylum. There were bangs, knocks, intelligent Mel communication documenting cold spots and a few of the craziest audio experiences we have ever had. MUST WATCH!

As we moved to Ward R, we were seeing shadow movement in the hallway and attempting to debunk it when we captured a really nice EVP from what sounds like a child. It documents paranormal activity we experienced in a seclusion cell on the third floor in Ward F.Ward F was designated for violent males and this is one of the seclusion cells in that Ward. This video is 10 minutes long and covers about 20 minutes of real-time investigation. That's how active this session was. We experienced physical touch, cold spots, intelligent communication with our Mel Meter, visual experiences, disembodied voices and SEVERAL intelligent EVPs. This session is also proof-positive that your own body is the best tool for investigation as multiple times we see investigators call out "cold chills" or feelings of a "static charge" simultaneous with EVP captures. So, we set up our equipment in this room to see what we could find. We had more difficulty establishing intelligent communication in this room than in any other location in the building, but we did capture some EVPs that you're not going to want to miss. Enjoy!

We chased it down into the room we saw it move into and captured a very compelling EVP as a result! We then seemed to be involved in a game of cat and mouse with different phenomenon causing us to chase it around the ward. We have compelling Mel Meter interaction measuring cold spots and additional EVPs. Upon bringing up Dr. Walter Freeman, who conducted 1000's of trans orbital lobotomies with an ice pick, we captured several instances of a strange whistle/whirring tones that we can't explain as well as disembodied voices that we can't explain. This session documents one team's session in "The Hole" in which was particularly active.Shortly after beginning this session, team members began to feel disoriented. One team member felt as though he was being touched—and we captured an EVP in this moment that seems to corroborate that someone was trying to get our attention. As we continued on, we were getting some really high EMF readings in front of cell 10. So, we stopped to investigate. We were just about to move on assuming it was being caused by something mundane when our Mel Meter went off measuring a sudden drop in temperature. So we stuck around and captured several more EVPs verifying that we weren't alone.At the end of this session, we strapped a head cam to a newer investigator and sent her by herself down to the lower level of solitary to do a solo run. She was reluctant but gutted it out and immediately captured a string of EVPs with several different voices that you don't want to miss!

A really active night got started off with bang during this session. After walking around the third tier experiencing no activity, we decided to head up to the sixth tier where newer inmates would have been incarcerated. It didn't take long for things to get stirred up once we got up there as we all heard a double knock from a cell we were walking past. As we investigated that, we promptly captured an EVP inside that cell and another just outside that cell. We had intelligent communication with our Mel Meter measuring cold spots. One investigator saw a black mass which led to even more evidence being captured. We heard and captured a disembodied voice and a disembodied yell. We captured additional EVPs. One investigator was physically touched...this session had it all.
