Shredder was modified and fast. Shredder II is the same Stihl 039 with 28" Rollamatic ES bar, RSLF chain and tuned rakers. BUT I have "super-tuned" the intake/exhaust, set RPM's @ 13,250 and plug gap at .025in. BIG chain speed and horsepower gain. It runs with less heat and will last longer overall. The improved air/fuel flow combined with an exhaust that allows the engine to "pump" at it's optimum rate maximizes your saws ability to maintain high RPM 's and torque while maintaining cooler engine temperatures. Turn your oiler all the way up and plan on an oiler mod as well. Works for all 1127 series chainsaws. REMEMBER, on any exhaust modified saw, to pull and trim the limiter tab on the high jet screw and turn 1 1/4 turns from seated to richen it and not grenade your new friend. This saw weighs 20.0 lbs. wet, so if your worried about your pea shooters, this baby will pipe them up too!... :)Stihl 039/MS390 Muffler Mod (super-tuned) 28 bar - SHREDDER II = Extreme Speed CuttingRedlineTimber2011-03-22 | Shredder was modified and fast. Shredder II is the same saw, same (hand filed [by me] square cut, full skip chisel bit) chain and tuned rakers, BUT I have "super-tuned" the intake/exhaust, set RPM's @ 13,250 and plug gap at .025in. BIG chain speed and horsepower gain. It runs with less heat and will last longer overall. The improved air/fuel flow combined with an exhaust that allows the engine to "pump" at it's optimum rate maximizes your saws ability to maintain high RPM 's, torque and cooler engine temperatures. Two pull drop start. Warm, cut cookies and TRY to keep up. Kill, cool, check plug; nice and tan. Ssssssssweet. Gotta get that boom, boom pow. Lots of torque, increased cutting speed and sounds awesome. When I ported the muffler I left the silencer/internal baffel intact as well as the spark arrester. The external baffle is modified in a way that directs the exhaust gases in a somewhat factory trajectory (side/ front) up over the bar. The wood is 14" dia. red maple. Max. bar length for this saw is 25" but the double dawgs reduce your effective cutting length: a 28" bar = 25.75", and a full skip chain has a third less cutters (less load and bulk). So this saw still rips with the 28" bar. On steep ground the longer bar also allows me a bigger margin of safety as well as better foot placement - I like my toes right where they are. A BIG IMPROVEMENT, now it cuts like a pro saw..... only better. REMEMBER, on any exhaust modified saw, to pull and trim the limiter tab on the high jet screw and turn out 1 1/4 turns from seated to richen it and not grenade your new friend. This saw weighs 20.0 lbs. wet, so if your worried about your pea shooters, this baby will pipe them up too!
