Baby Hotline || Animation Meme || [THANKS FOR ALMOST 400?] DaftBlue 2019-09-15 | Rip me, I can't even hold a consistent artstyle in a video anymore for longer than 2 seconds. I guess that's what I get for only drawing in one lame style for two years straight that literally never got better or improved one inch in that time period. This year is better as in art progress for me. Also, I recently accepted an internship for an organization someplace, I don't know how this is gonna affect when I can or cannot animate :T usually stuff like that doesn't get in the way but we'll see. ~There's actually a legitimate story behind this one, I just don't have the mental energy to actually write it all down for people to read. Haven't even been able to finalize and make ref sheets for characters I have had for over three years no, resulting in inconsistent backstories and a design that changes literally every time I draw them. Ain't that sad. I'll talk a little about Aspen here since I haven't in literally all the years I've had her. She's literally part aspen tree, hence her name. She's basically immortal. Anytime anyone attempts to "kill her," she enters her "rotting tree form," a ghost like state, and stays like that until she regrows, and returns to her normal body. Her tree form is a separate being with it's own set of memories, different personality, she doesn't know that her normal self exists, and her normal form does not know her tree-self exists. Upon waking up into the other form, it is just like a continuation from the last time that specific form was killed or reborn. Obviously this causes a lot of psychological issues when you seem to "wake up" from a dream-like state years later after your death. This took a huge toll on her sanity, eventually causing her to go even more insane than she was the last time she reawakened. The black dragon with the green crystals growing out of him is referred by me as Nightseer (don't have an actual name for him yet despite having him for 3 years rip rop). He's an ancient dragon who's been around for thousands of years, nearing his own death. He doesn't wanna die, so he has to feed off another dragon's soul to stay alive. There wasn't any better soul to feed off than Aspen's, after being well known for her immortality, making her an ideal target. She doesn't seem to notice this at all. No one is actually aware of what happens after the real Aspen temporarily dies, but one thing for sure is her soul loses strength for a while in her tree-state. Since the soul that Nightseer chose to feed of grows weaker during those times, it makes his body grow weaker during the period of time she can be considered "dead" to everyone else. He doesn't know that of course, but it seems he falls weak and gets close to dying-sick every time Aspen gets "killed."The green/purple talons you see near the end, belong to Dreamwalker. Dreamwalker is an assassin, and has one purpose in life: to terminate Aspen before she destroys the world. They are very strong, but only mortal, so they must get rid of Aspen without her finding out who keeps killing her. They are madly in love with Nightseer, and can't live without him. They get very very depressed when he seems to get very very ill with no way out of it (they have no idea that Nightseer is feeding off Aspen). By the time Dreamwalker begins to notice a correlation between Nightseer's health and the deaths of Aspen, Aspen is too strong and already dominating their planet. However, they are really selfish. They will do anything for Nightseer to live, but Aspen needs to be captured eventually before literally everyone dies. This is all imma say for now, I'll just leave it at that. There is definitely way more to this though, I'll talk about it later. She ends up having to escape back to the sea because everyone's just so violent and hostile. Sad story. But then Space I guess follows her into the sea, attempting to do who knows what to her. Backstory: Dreamwalker in the lucid realm, she has a vision of its friend becoming friends with an enemy, which could wreck everything and cause chaos. It cuts off her friend's tail (it kills her), wiping her timeline from existence. Later, Dreamwalker regrets it, and it threw a bunch of people in danger. Kind of hard to tell when the last frames were supposed to be tweened BUT NO, idiot me had to make it all on the same layer. Well I hope this makes somewhat sense. Lavender Town Syndrome | Anemone DaftBlue 2018-06-23 | Heyy I am back and finally showing some activity. It is very rare that I am actually motivated to start/finish something, here is something I actually got around to doing. So I got this idea two nights ago and I really could not shake it from my head. I was listening to the Lavender Town theme and was thinking about the myth and how it supposedly turned people insane by listening to it and it got me thinking. This was right for Anemone considering how animus magic slowly turned you insane after using it too much and I found this audio fit and here we are. The characters in the background (Whirlpool, Turtle, Darkstalker, and Coral) are the characters that Anemone has killed/hurt/hated before. I may or may not have payed more attention to them and the background effects than I actually did with Anemone. I really wanted to try out advanced effects, tweening, and filters in my program I have only gotten to use a few times actually and I think I did pretty decent this time. This is probably going to be on my personal favourites list due to the amount of effort I put into this and how I really like the final product.
