On April 22nd, 2020 a Los Angeles native by the name of Daniel Hernandez was shot six times and killed almost instantly while approaching LAPD Officers with a box cutter. The shooter was 23-year-old Officer Toni McBride, who not only completed her academy training younger than any woman before her, but also earned the award as “top shot” of her class. In the same year that Toni began her patrol on LAPD’s Newton Division, she started appearing in Youtube, Facebook and Instagram videos crushing gun courses in scantly clad tactical gear, earning herself a fast social media following.
The Hernandez family, their lawyers, as well as many Los Angeles locals are questioning whether Toni’s affinity for high speed target practice had something to do with the six shots that killed Daniel. In response, the city of LA and the LAPD are taking a deeper look at the case. However, concerns have arose due to the fact that Toni is the daughter of Jamie McBride, a 25-year LAPD veteran who now holds the title of Director for the Los Angeles Police Protective League, the powerful labor Union that protects officers, and the status quo.
Toni McBride is currently working Newton Division, she received no discipline for her role in the killing.
This is the story of LAPD Officer Toni McBride and The Killing of Daniel Hernandez.

LAPD Footage - youtu.be/PtSSNn_0GCUTHE AURORA POLICE AND THE KILLING OF ELIJAH MCCLAINAmerican Wounds2020-06-17 | On August 24, 2019 Elijah Mcclain (23) was walking home when a man driving passed called 911, reporting Elijah as a suspicious person. Three officers from the Aurora Colorado Police Department - Nathan Woodyard, Jason Rosenblatt, and Randy Roedema - arrived on the scene and physically engaged Elijah almost immediately, despite never announcing what he’d done to warrant the search and seizure.
Over the course of 15 minutes, Elijah was pinned to a wall, slammed and wrestled to the ground, placed in two carotid choke holds, all before being injected with 500 milligrams of Ketamine while lying handcuffed on the ground. Elijah would lose consciousness in the ambulance and within 3 days of arriving at the University of Colorado Hospital Elijah would be pronounced brain dead.
The cause of death was declared “undetermined”, and none of the officers were charged or disciplined in any way. However, on June 10, 2020 Colorado lawmakers reopened Elijah McClain’s case, asking for an impartial death query.
