One warrior, a brown tabby tom named Cinnamonclaw, knew if she died, the kit would be a orphan, and he knew all too well what being an orphan kit was like, so of course he stepped forward and took the young kittypet's caterwauling kitten from his mother's body that was fading from warmth as she dies.One other warrior, a orange tabby named Foxshadow argued that he couldn't take the kit back to CoastClan, that it was a pest, a kittypet, not clanborn like the rest of them, which the deputy, Goldenfur, intervened and countered that clanborn or not, no kit should ever be left out like this---it was simply part of the Warrior Code, The patrol decides to head back to camp, with Foxshadow's eyes narrowed in suspicion and uncertainty.When the patrol reached CoastClan's camp, Goldenfur told their Clan leader, Claystar, about what had happened. They had to take this kit in---what kind of sick cat would leave a newborn kit to die? Claystar, who's also distristful of outsiders, reluctantly agreed since they only have one nursing queen with her litter of two in the nursery.At this point, Cinnamonclaw has got to a point of being emotionally stressed from the kit being an orphan. He reaches the nursery, which awakens Geckostripe, the only queen resting with her litter containing Viperkit and Pebblekit, Cinnamonclaw quickly falls apart to tell her what happened. But Geckostripe was a kind and caring she-cat, of course she'd understand. She loves her kits, and she wanted to take in this one, too. She immediately said yes, her eyes sparkled with pure joy. Cinnamonclaw thanks her and drops the kit gently beside the other two, Geckostripe vows to love this kit as much as she loves her own, and she names the orphaned kit Sagekit---a name that will be remembered for moons to come."Time taken: 2 months, on and off.
