GiantGrantGames Wings of Liberty is an incredibly important game to me. This retrospective ended up taking a lot more time than I had initially intended. This is the only shot I will ever get to express my detailed feelings on this game and I hope I got it right.

2:35:11 - Oh You Thought I wouldn't bring up Touhou when talking about The Lost Vikings? WELL HOLD ON TO YOUR KNEE CAPS BECAUSE HERE WE GO. It is pretty clear that TLV was largely inspired by Touhou 12: Unidentified Fantastic Object, which came out 1 year earlier. The weapon pickup system is very similar to the UFO collection in...UFO. But ahhhhhhhh why did they ever pick THAT game as the basis? UFO is considered one of the hardest Touhou games because the system is incredibly inconsistent and leads to a lot of deaths trying to get power. There were so many better thing to be inspired from that weren't mechanically problematic. Just copy Mountain of Faith for goodness sake, it was LITERALLY DESIGNED AS A SOFT REBOOT TO THE FRANCHISE and had very accessible and easy to learn mechanics as a result! A core mechanic forcing people to stop bottom hugging on a one-off game mode is incredibly silly! I have a pet peeve about people who invest a lot of time to get good at something and then proceed to forget how much time they invested to get there and assume everybody else can keep up with them. That sort of feels like what happened here. Somebody was a decent STG player and forgot how insanely difficult the genre is to get into. Anyway while I was making this video I ended up getting into Lost Branch of Legend because I needed a turn based game I could play in bite sized chunks. Really solid Slay the Spire knockoff. The use of MTG mana colors really adds a strategic depth that I like a lot, though I think the game is a bit too snowbally. The "True" boss on lunatic is nice and tough but I don't think I have ever lost on act 3 because of how strong you get by then. Spell Carnival arrived in the mail while I was making this video and I am hoping it is decent, just haven't had time to boot it up yet. I am a big Turn Based Strategy fan so I have high hopes. There is also Touhou Empries coming out eventually which I was hoping would be good but I legitimately don't want to play it because Reimu's sprite is too ridiculous. Anyway but maybe that is okay because Marisa ≫ Reimu anyway and I doubt this game would be an exception

Hey, its another of those times where I sit around typing stuff as the video uploads.

Ive been putting a lot of effort recently into creating content for the Starcraft 2 community to play, it's been really fun.

The honest fact is that there isn't a whole lot of space for difficult challenge runs in RTS,. Now that we have the formal stuff out of the way, how's it going? Things have been pretty crazy for me recently. In mid-December I decided to drastically cut back on the amount I have been streaming in order to focus more on this channel's videos, and as a result I managed to make this video in 9 days when a 30 minute video normally takes upwards of a month!

I focused a ton on making other parts of GiantGrantGames expand and grow in 2021, which was a good call. Having a place where I can create daily content for people is important as a content creator, but it was bugging me that the main channel wasn't getting the care and dedication that it deserved.

In 2022 I am looking to redirect my focus towards creating more edited videos for this channel. The goal is to get a video out every 2 weeks for the entire year. Its gonna be tough, but I think I am getting slightly faster at making these things!

I Broke Starcraft 2 Because Legacy of the Void Without Building Anything Is Too Hard.

GiantGrantGames 2021-11-07 | I started uploading this video over ten thousand years ago. Before YouTube was even invented. Wolly Mammoths helped edit it. YouTube's upload speed is so slow that it only has reached you today.

I put myself in cryofreeze to arrive at this moment, but I am afraid I may have been too early. The video is only 68% uploaded and that isn't nice. At this rate humanity will collapse before I release this.

Update: Six years have passed. It is now at 73%.

Update 2: Fourty-Seven more years have passed. The video is at 90%. People no longer watch videos via YouTube and instead have advertisements beamed directly into their brains without any attached entertainment.

Update 3: The Upload has finished. Skyrim has been re-released 142,816 times on every platform known to man while I waited. You can now use your microwave to be the Dovahkiin. Overwatch 2 has still not released.

Update 4: This took so long, I sat in this box for hours, and somehow it never occurred to me to use this time to timestamp stuff. I am a good YouTuber.

Update 5: I didn't include the Epilogue because it's boring. If you would like to know how it goes: The answer is Time Stop OP, Kerrigan OP, Kerrigan OP. She sure is balanced.

Is Age of Empires 4 The Next Generation Of RTS? (Campaign Review)

Honestly I am very nervous because I have never done a review before and there is a very real chance that this video is going to bomb because I missed something.

Beating Heart of the Swarm Without Building Anything?

GiantGrantGames 2021-10-22 | No Production Heart of the Swarm is incredibly binary. Lacking the ability to repair gives me significantly less durability, but the monolithic power of Kerrigan is beyond anything I get in other campaigns. I really feel like Speedrunning Heart of the Swarm taught me many skills that I could transfer to this run. Precision Kerrigan Manipulation really makes the difference here.
