My laptop was fully incapable of processing the entire build in 4k and I subsequently will need to upgrade my laptop (long time coming regardless so I can keep this part of the business up to date for you lovely people). Sound Comparison: My Latest Guitar Builds Daisy Tempest 2024-04-01 | Happy accidents! The best and most humbling way of accepting one's flaws, which may well lead to progress. I think this is such an occasion.Mic wise - I'm very silly! I do own a Stealth microphone from Aston too, which is an end address, and I just got them confused. This is an Aston Spirit. It's been a while since I've got the old recording gear out... maybe I could've gone without this particular happy accident. Sorry guys. Subsequently, the sound waves are being bounced around a little bit and the sound isn't super pure. I'm noticing that it is for sure suffering in the environment of the workshop, free from acoustic panels and lots of open wall space capable of bouncing lots of sound waves. You can particularly hear this in the bass. Leave a comment and we can all bully Hugo into letting me infiltrate his studio and record the Tyger guitar properly! Hope you can salvage something from this. If not, it was fun anyway and nice to introduce you to the guitars!The walnut guitar is safely in it's new home, now, and it was as fun as I thought it was going to be to hand over the guitar to it's new home. Making a Backgammon Board (ASMR) Daisy Tempest 2023-09-29 | Hi all, This project is another one of my weekend workshop experiments where I try out a bit of marquetry for the first time. There are a lot of things I'd do differently if I had to do this again - more stable plywood, bonding each side of the board beforehand together instead of shooting them after the fact of their gluing, and using an accurate table saw to cut the mitres instead of sanding them. I don't have an accurate table saw (NEVER buy the Triton entry level ones if you want to cut anything with any degree of accuracy!) so I used a sander which got dusty. And while we're on things you shouldn't get - the hinges I used were very soft metal, which was a pain to screw in. I realise you might want to lookup some of the tools I used in this video if you want to try your own board. The most important tools here were my scalpel and probably my sander, but I also used hand planes, SKIL saw, drills and screwdrivers. I'd recommend SKIL stuff for DIY use, they're perfect for this kind of project. And Lie Nielsen didn't let me down as per usual for hand tools.
