I can just imagine your eyebrow raising at a sardonic angle, tacitly saying "Tanuki, you mossback weeaboo, what does it matter if Sacrilege is fronted by a woman? Their debut LP Behind the Realms of Madness would be an amazing example of thrash/crust either way!" Except, I'm not so sure about that.
Behind the Realms of Madness seems to have begun as an experiment in pragmatism. Six tracks amounting to a very brisk twenty-six minutes all feature a formulaic approach of unremitting riffs that hit harder - not necessarily stronger. Oppressively swampy and humid, these riffs forsake elegance for raw, crushing power. What's something of a double-edged sword is their propensity to make the most of very little. 'At Death's Door' is a five minute slugfest boasting perhaps only three or four unique riffs. But what seems repetitive on paper proves to be a constantly engaging essay. Why?
I'm glad you asked, Chekhov. It's because exquisite vocalist Tam Simpson delivers a barrage of such gritty, resolute shouts; fresh, original, and unburdened by modesty. While 'Shadow from Mordor' demonstrates the greatest degree of both riff and solo intricacy, it's Simpson's vocals tying the entire package together. Her ferocity is a welcome step-up from Chastain's Leather Leone, as well as a welcome step-down from Znöwhite's Nicole Lee. To resume my earlier conversation with your eyebrow, I don't think Sacrilege would enjoy the same cult status it has now, had it not been for the tremendous vocals of Tam Simpson.
Though, that's not to say her fellow bandmembers aren't pulling their weight. Original drummer Andy Baker supplies rhythms that are satisfyingly consistent and dependable, with breakdowns frequent and accentuating of the guitar's violent toiling. 'Out of Sight, Out of Mind' asks the most out of him, with fast blastbeats and sudden breakdowns. Original bassist Tony May, for how audible he can hope to be in this muddy, lo-fi environment, contributes to the depth of these tracks well enough.
Though these two batons were recently passed to Spikey T. Smith and Frank Healey, respectively. Among the many goodies included with the recent reissue of Behind the Realms of Madness are Sacrileges' two most recent recordings, 'Feed' and 'Dig Your Own Grave'. Although the former is more in keeping with the slower-paced doom direction the band took with Turn Back Trilobite, the latter is startlingly committed to their earlier style, following their winning formula almost verbatim. And though the live and demo tracks plumb new depths of sordidness I thought were explored by the LP tracks, they're still well-worth a listen. If you're interested in obscure, quality thrash from the 80's - especially those with frontwomen - this classic demands a place in your collection.

1. THE UNSANE - Necromanic Forces Fast, dirty & rabid Deathrash with little identity but it works well enough as an opening song. Sounds like the same version of the song "Necronomic Forces" on their MLP. 2. RIPPING CORPSE - The Unblessed Really powerful, fast Thrash Metal that had a later demo vinylized by CCG Underground Records. 3. TEMPTER - Death Is For Burning Great brutal Thrash hashing out Infernal Majesty-like minor scale riff-orgies at Sadus-pace. The Aurora IL band, not to be confused w/ the Florida-TEMPTER on Speed Metal Hell II. 4. DAMIEN - Final Day The Swedish "Requiem For The Dead" MLP band. Great Thrash riffing craftmanship loosing some of its potential thanx to constipated vox. 5. SACRED DEATH - No Life The New Jersey band. The bass guitar is even higher in the mix than on those early Cryptic Slaugher albums and it doesn't do their otherwise decent Thrash any favours. The Evil Dead-movie vocal effect is kinda cool though. 6. ANGKOR WATT - Died Young One of the US' best crossover acts, but this demo version of the song turned out a whole lot better on their debut LP.
Side B:
1. NECROVORE - Slaughtered Remains Downtuned, BRUTAL stuff that came do define the style we now know as Death Metal. Still lacking that unique X-factor that allowed other bands of the genre to go further, imo. Bootlegged a number of times but not yet officially rereleased to my knowledge. 2. DARKNESS - Armageddon As evil'n'wicked as Speed Metal could possibly get without getting labeled Thrash. Later featured in "The Demos" 3LP boxset on High Roller Records. 3. SEVERE WARNING - It's Not Easy To Be The Antichrist Occationally a rather original blend of US PowerThrash with proto-DM breaks. 4. MORBID ANGEL - Thy Kingdom Come A textbook-example of how a groundbreaking, highly original and ahead-of-their-time band got to spread their first, unique sounds to the masses via a semi-obscure vinyl compilation. Same version as found on their debut 7". 5. VACANT GRAVE - Eternal Nightmare Ultrafast, brutal start/stop Thrash with one or 2 too crossover-sounding parts to be labeled proto-DM. Also featured on a very rare private 7".Dehumanized - Beyond The Mind (2016)Alexis Gonzáles2016-10-31 | Tracklist:

The album was released on August 7, 2009 through Nuclear Blast Records and on August 11, 2009, through Metal Blade Records in the USA.
The album title refers to the Good News in Christianity; the message of Jesus Christ.
“ Evangelion comes from a Greek word ‘Spreading the word of God’ or ‘spreading the good news’…oh well, you already know that we love to play with the meanings and symbolism. We’re here to show you our interpretation of what Evangelion really is. ” — Nergal[14] The album's cover artwork is a depiction of The Great Harlot of Babylon, the figuress of evil mentioned in the Book of Revelation in the Bible.
“ The picture is of The Great Harlot of Babylon riding the seven-headed beast. Saints bow before her in worship whilst the tablets of the Ten Commandments lie broken at her feet. It represents our vision and the interpretation of the New Testament parable where the “Whore of Babylon” is a symbol of rebellion and resistance against God. ” — Nergal Recording and production In January 2009, the band was in the final stages of the songwriting and rehearsal process for the album. Behemoth entered Radio Gdańsk studio in Poland to begin work on the album on February 16, 2009. The band managed to tap Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, In Flames, Dark Funeral) to produce drums on the record. Bergstrand used some unconventional techniques—a big room for the drums to create ambience and 22-channel recording for a more "organic and natural" sound.
In March they were close to finish recording the guitars, with help from Wojciech and Sławomir Wiesławski from Studio Hertz. Within five days they completed three songs and laid down three rhythm guitars on each side, after which they worked on the bass, solos and vocals simultaneously.
The band also managed to tap Colin Richardson to mix the album. The band had tried to book him before for their previous album, The Apostasy, but he wasn't available then.
In early May, tracking was completed and on May 12 Nergal flew to the United Kingdom to join Colin Richardson to mix the record at Miloco Studios, London.[21] Also in May, Metal Hammer was given the opportunity to listen to three fully completed songs in Miloco Studios.[22] Nergal stated that this was the most relaxing and at the same time the most creative studio session he had ever been a part of.

¿Canciones a destacar? ¡Todas!

It has once again aroused controversy in certain journalist circles (in Finland, ironically) for again supposedly being National Socialist.
"Kut" translates to "cunt" in Dutch, the phrase "Rot op kut" in the song meaning "fuck off cunt".

Death Metal. Much like the mainstream rock bands that were popular in the Tampa Bay area, the Death Metal bands were becoming extremely popular on the local music scene as well.
Whether it was from the common, everyday, average garage bands that were sprouting up all over the bay area, or the more experienced bands playing in the local venues such as the Brass Mug, or the Ritz Theatre, Tampa Bay was gaining some well deserved attention and recognition with this newer, much more aggressive sound.
Tampa Bay was producing the majority of Metal bands. Bands such as Obituary, Death, Morbid Angel, Nasty Savage and Deicide (just to name a few) were all from this area. Cannibal Corpse, although originally from New York, moved their home base to the Tampa Bay area so they could prosper from the locally exploding Death Metal scene as well.
Before long, record companies started signing Tampa Death Metal Bands to their labels left and right.
Morrisound Recording Studios in Tampa became one of the preferred studios in the Bay area for Death Metal bands to record in. Though the studios did much, much more then just Death Metal, it was Death Metal that helped put the studios, as well as the Tampa Bay area on the national map in the 1980's & into the 1990's... So much in fact that it rightfully earned Tampa Bay the moniker of: "The Death Metal Capital of the World". That moniker couldn't have been more accurate at the time either. L.A. was home to the "Hair Bands," Seattle would eventually become known as the birthplace of "Grunge," and without a doubt, Tampa Bay was then, and always will be the "Death Metal Capital of the World!"
Even with the Tampa Bay death metal scene having an extremely large following, many in the scene at the time felt that it was being shunned by the mainstrem rock scene here in the Tampa Bay area. Though Tampa Bay was receiving world-wide recognition for being the death metal capital of the world, here in Tampa Bay the death metal scene was being looked upon as more "underground." It was even reported that the reason Keith Collins (Savatage, Krunch) founded the annual "Tampa Bay Metal Awards" back in 1990 was due to what he felt was the lack of attention and recognition that the death metal bands were receiving at the annual "Tampa Bay Music Awards" show. tampabaymusichistory.comSODOM - Water BoardingAlexis Gonzáles2014-07-04 | Hellion Rising / Water Boarding Split 2014 Sodom / Hirax
