In this video, U Do It uses the Hillman Picture Hanging Kit to hang beachy picture. Welcome to the Jersey Shore, where we do all things with a shore vibe. We had this pictures for 8 years and we're finally getting around to hanging them now. While Mrs U Do it was at the beach I took the time to get to work.
Suggested Tools and Materials:
- Hammer
- Pencil
- Tape Measure
- Level

- Hillman Picture Hanging Kit or similar
We have three pictures and we wanted them on one wall. I wanted a 4-inch reveal on both sides so that reduced the area by 8 inches. The goal was to have a 1-inch to 2-inch gap between the top of the light switch cover plate and the bottom of the picture. Looking at the back of the picture, I measured from the bottom of the frame to the top of the keyhole, which was 10 inches and added the 2-inch gap to that. This gave me 12 inches where the nail should be installed. This gave me a 1-inch gap.
To determine the location of the outer pictures I divided the width of the 9 1/2-inch picture by 2, which is 4 3/4-inch. I added the reveal of 4 inches to that and that was the distance from the edge of the wall for my first mark. Then I repeated that same measurement from the shower.
With my two marks for the left and right pictures, I used my tape measure to determine the center mark between them. Using my level I translated the middle mark to the left and right.
I grabbed one of the smaller picture hangers and the appropriate nail and hammered the hangers into the wall. Hanging the pictures on them was cake.
It worked out perfectly thanks to the Hillman Picture Hanging Kit. This kit offers picture hangers that hold 10lbs to 100lbs. It's a convenient kit and fits in your toolbox or junk drawer. Who doesn't have a junk drawer? Am I right?
