What do you do when you need a half Euro profile cylinder on a locksmith job, but you don’t have one in the van?
In this video, I show how I cut down a standard Euro profile cylinder and convert it into a half cylinder using what I already have.
The idea is simple: **use what you have to get the lock job done.**

Depending on the cylinder and application, this technique can also be used with a turn knob/turn key to create different configurations, including a half cylinder with a turn on one side.
This is a practical locksmith workshop modification that could get you out of trouble when you don’t have the exact cylinder you need on hand.
