If you get into the water and you get a serious infection, you will lose your leg!"And then I got into the water. That was it. The was the final straw. The last call. As much as it was important for me to achieve my dreams, my family is more important. I couldn't risk losing them in exchange for my dreams. JetPack Aviation Opens World’s First JetPack Experience Center. JetPack Aviation 2018-10-30 | Los Angeles, CA. November 1, 2018. JetPack Aviation, the only company in the world to build a true turbine powered personal VTOL JetPack has opened its first JetPack Experience Center. The company is offering a limited number of people the chance to fly their history making JB10, the same machine that CEO and Chief Pilot David Mayman flew around the Statue of Liberty in 2015. Mayman is the only FAA certified JetPack pilot in the world and was instrumental in creating the JB10. For just $4,950 Experience Center participants will receive a full day of personal instruction from Mayman, along with JPA certified JetPack pilot and Operations Manager Boris Jarry. Following the Statue of Liberty flight the JPA team launched a global demonstration tour that took the flight crew to Europe, Asia, Japan, and the Middle East. Now, Mayman and his staff will open their secret training and development center to a lucky few candidates and let them buckle in, throttle up … and fly the JB10! To reach the Experience Center, you must drive through an unmarked and undisclosed orchard approximately one hour north of Los Angeles until you suddenly come upon the giant tower of the JPA safety training tether. This is the very same system recently used to train Navy SEAL Special Warfare Personnel to fly. Applicants accepted to the JetPack Experience Center will also be instructed on this one-of-a kind trainer. When asked what makes the JetPack Experience Center so unique, company founder David Mayman replied, “Only 12 men have walked on the Moon. As of today, that is more than the number of people who have flown a real JetPack. Adventurers have been chasing this dream for decades. Now, we are offering folks the incredible opportunity to be part of aviation history. It’s also an amazing adrenaline rush.” Operations Manager and JetPack Pilot Boris Jarry added, “Please do not confuse the JB10 with a water powered toy. The JB10 is a high performance, turbine powered flight vehicle delivering several hundred pounds of thrust in a matter of seconds. The unit can reach speeds exceeding 100mph and a theoretical altitude greater than 10,000 feet. This is an adrenaline rush like no other.” The initial class of JPA Experience Center applicants will be accepted on a first come basis. All participants will receive detailed FAA approved pre-flight safety instruction, ample flight time on the proprietary training tether, a personal memento flight suit, additional required flight equipment, and a professionally recorded video of their flights.
