As of October 15, 2024 you can now upload up to 3-minute long videos as YouTube shorts. This was introduced in October and is still being rolled out. The longer form YouTube shorts still show under the long form videos tab, but will eventually show in the Shorts tab. If you do not want your video that are 3 minutes in duration to show as shorts, upload them in horizontal format (16:9 aspect ratio).
