I first visited Mount Bromo in April 2012 for 2 nights and I was so fascinated by the many possibilities that this amazing landscape can offer and so I decided to revisit Mount Bromo and made my first time-lapse movie there.My goal was to capture the beautiful milky way galaxy and sun rise along with the 3 volcanoes namely Mount Bromo, Mount Semeru and Mount Batok.On 28 May 2012, I encountered one of the rare scenes where Mount Semeru was spewing red lava smoke under the milky way galaxy. Look at 01:33 to watch Mount Semeru in action.On 2 June 2012, I captured the moon setting right in the middle of Mount Bromo and Mount Batok and the milky way galaxy became more obvious gradually. Look at 00:49 to watch the moonset in action.On 3 June 2012, I was hit by a sandstorm when I was shooting on Mount Bromo and the strong wind had toppled two of my cameras and I was sure my whole scene was ruined. But to my surprise, the two cameras managed to capture more than 5 seconds worth of photos before they collapsed. Look at 02:10 to watch the sandstorm in action!On 4 June 2012, it was a full moon night and I encountered one of the rare scenes where the volcanoes were partially covered by the hovering mid clouds and I captured the entire moon set. Look at 00:08 to watch the moving mid clouds in slow motion or look at 01:48 to watch the full moonset in action.On 5 June 2012, knowing that the moon will set simultaneously as the sun rise, I spent more than 8 hours to capture this scene. 23 Nov 2016 - Vivo City Singapore Timelapse with Phantom 4 Justin Ng Photo 2016-11-23 | Here's my second time-lapse attempt with DJI Phantom 4. Exposure time for each image was 4 seconds at 10 seconds interval. Total 102 images produced at ISO100 for a flight duration of 17mins. No denoise, no sharpening. Just color-correction, minor cropping and everything else is right out of the camera.
22 Nov 2016 - MBS Timelapse with DJI Phantom 4 Justin Ng Photo 2016-11-22 | My first drone timelapse of Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay from Marina Barrage. Exposure time for each photo was 3 seconds at 10 seconds interval. Total 110 images for 18 mins in the sky at ISO100. Apologise for the flickering as I did not deflicker the video.
21 Nov 2016 - My first long exposure shot with DJI Phantom 4 Justin Ng Photo 2016-11-21 | Here's my first long exposure attempt with my first drone, a DJI Phantom 4 which I bought 2 days ago, at Marina Bay Sands Singapore. The drone lost connection with my controller and it attempted to fly back to me on its own, nearly crashing into Ritz Carlton Hotel! I was in Sports mode and so, obstacle avoidance system was disabled. Lessons learnt! I sped up the raw video speed by 1000% so you don't have to waste 15mins of your life watching this :) Phantom 4 Pro should reach me by next week and I will post some videos on it. Stay tuned!
