On March 22, 2024. An officer from the University of Wisconsin Stout Police Department received a call from a Community Service Officer (CSO) about a noise complaint and possible underage drinking violation. The officer responded and the CSO stated that when she made contact with the occupants of the dorm, she observed Busch Light beer cans in the room and that they were not 21. The officer knocked on the door and it was opened by a male later identified as (Tate). He asked Tate if there was any drinking going on in the room and he said yes, he also admitted that nobody in the room was 21. He agreed to a PBT test which showed he had a BAC of.069. The three other occupants of the dorm room refused to do a PBT test but they all admitted to drinking. The officer asked if he could search the room but Tate said that he would rather get the alcohol himself. After gathering all of the alcohol into a pile, Tate agreed to let the officer search his side of the room; nothing else of evidentiary value was located. The alcohol that was in the room were cans of Busch Light, Redd's Wicked and a bottle of Titos Vodka. All the parties involved took the alcohol and dumped it down the drain in the janitor's closet. All four students were found guilty for Underage Drinking and ordered to pay a $200 fine.
