I love "TVs Frank" but this short standup didn't play all that well. It was weird seeing Maron clean shaven, too. This show apparently aired around 2001 and didn't last very long. It shows the "bad guy" driving south on Stern approaching Ventura where he does a U-turn and parks in front of the pool company that used to be on the corner. Across Stern is a small motel (back in the trees) that was featured numerous times on HP. That motel was torn down long ago and the site is now a small shopping plaza.WABC TalkRadio 77 - Yankee baseball ad - May 31, 1983morrisonAV2015-04-12 | An ad for WABC's Yankee Baseball coverage featuring Art Rust, Jr., Billie Martin and George Steinbrenner. It brings back SO many memories for me. I first saw this back in the '70s while visiting my favorite uncle in Atlanta. I had never even heard of a "Superstation" before and the melody of the theme music took me YEARS to identify (Rodney Franklin's "Life Moves On"). I'm amazed that I could still identify it. Anyway, this one is just for me and the folks who remember TBS Theatre Latenight. Also, since there's no voiceover, I assume that this clip was shown after a commercial break. Sorry for the horrible audio with the rolled off highs. Still searching for a cleaner version in my library.WWF - Miss Elizabeth - March 1989morrisonAV2015-03-25 | Who says men didn't watch soap operas?KTVY (Oklahoma City, OK) - The Night Shift - March 1983morrisonAV2015-01-02 | For my friends in Oklahoma City, here's the intro to the all-night movie show called "The Night Shift" on KTVY (Channel 4). This one falls somewhere in that spectrum and featured boxer Rocky Graziano. Can anybody tell me if the food was any good?Clairol Son of a Gun ad - Charlene Tilton (1978)morrisonAV2014-09-28 | Can somebody please tell me the name of the character actor who is in this scene with Tilton? (Update: My buddy Rick Dailey of the Ohio66 "Route 66" website ID'd the man as Guy Raymond. He had a long career playing long-faced "bumpkin" types). The ad is cute and I love how they pick her up and carry her off the stage every time to dry her off. The voiceover is done by John Bartholomew Tucker, but don't ask me why I know that.Chanel No. 5 - Blue Sky (1979)morrisonAV2014-09-27 | There are very few ads that cling to my brain the way this one has. I first saw it in 1979 and was immediately struck by how it looked and sounded. Back then, I didn't know the work of Ridley Scott nor was I familiar with the music of Vangelis. Years later I came to know them both and also the deep, rich voice of John Huston. His tagline "Share the fantasy..." was only on the American version of the ad. I'd also love to know who the female narrator was. One other bit of trivia: The swimming man comes out of the pool holding one of her shoes. How did it get into the pool? In the longer European version of the ad, you see shoe fall into the water. It took me years to find a copy of this clip and I only wish it was cleaner, but this will do for now. Share the fantasy!David Letterman Anniversary Show HighlightsmorrisonAV2014-09-27 | I'm not sure which anniversary this was from, but Letterman's best stuff was back when he'd take to the streets of NYC to have fun with the unsuspecting public.Saturday Night Frights with Dr. Paul Bearer - WTOGmorrisonAV2014-09-27 | I'm not sure of the year of this episode, but it was probably in the mid- to late 80s. Dr. Paul was a Tampa Bay icon for horror movie fans unless you were old enough to remember WTVT's Shock Armstrong. The Spaghetti Harvest - San Giorgio Spaghetti ad (1978)morrisonAV2014-09-26 | This ad is a clever "call back" to a very big hoax played on the British public in 1957. The hoax happened on April Fool's Day and featured a film crew supposedly traveling to southern Switzerland to document the annual spaghetti harvest at a family farm. In true documentary style, they showed the happy family filling baskets with long strands of ripe spaghetti pulled from their trees. I saw this footage in 1963 on the Jack Paar Show when I was a little kid and was surprised to see this ad from 1978 spoofing the original hoax. If you search Wikipedia, look for "Spaghetti-tree hoax".The Late Show intro - WCBS (1979)morrisonAV2014-09-26 | Here's the intro to "Ziiegfeld Follies" on New York's WCBS "Late Show" in 1979.Yul Brynner - New York City PSA (1978)morrisonAV2014-09-26 | Yul Brynner doing a Public Service Announcement for the city of New York back in the '70s. He would have been 23 at the time of filming. Please let me know if you can confirm that this is Jeff.Fruit of the Loom (Nov. 26, 1978)morrisonAV2014-09-18 | I always loved actress Loretta Tupper who was 72 at the time of this ad. Her voice was so distinct and it looked like she was having a lot of fun with this ad. It appears that there was a rotating roster of actors who were dressed up as the fruit characters including veteran actor F. Murray Abraham as the talking Fig Leaf; comedian Joey Faye (died 1997) as the dancing Green Grape in the 1980s commercials; Harry Goz (died 2003) as the Big Apple. This was broadcast Nov. 26, 1978.Maxell cassette tape admorrisonAV2014-08-30 | This ad was a followup to the famous "speaker" ad where the guy's hair was blown back by the power of the Maxell playback. Not sure of the year on this one but it was probably late '80s or early '90s.McDonalds - TV Stars reunited - 1989morrisonAV2014-08-30 | Here's a McDonald's ad from the late '80s and it features Grandpa Munster (Al Lewis), Jed Clampett (Buddy Ebsen), Mrs. June Cleaver (Barbara Billingsley), Eddie Haskell (Ken Osmond), Gilligan (Bob Denver) and Maxwell Smart (Don Adams) who....oddly....doesn't appear on camera except for the opening shot.
