Why Tire Prices Are Rising
The biggest producer of natural rubber for tires is Thailand. More than four million tonnes of rubber are harvested annually in plantations there. And demand for rubber is ever-growing - because ever more tires are needed. But the labor conditions in Southeast Asia are harsh - with working days of up to 12 hours and very low wages. In addition, toxic herbicides banned in Europe are used to fight weeds on the plantations. After the harvest, the ‘white gold’ rubber is sold to brokers, who, in turn, sell it on. German tire manufacturers, like Continental, for example, are keen to stress that they use "natural commodities conscientiously.” But many car drivers don’t give a second thought about where the rubber in their tires comes from - and why we don’t recycle used tires more effectively.

Klean entered the waste-to-energy sector over a decade ago using advanced thermal treatment (ACT) technologies, recognizing that waste-to-energy or energy-from-waste is a key component in any efficient waste management system. By using advanced thermal treatment technologies solid waste that could not be recycled by any other means is converted into environmentally-friendly energy.
The yields generated by a waste-to-energy facility may include electricity, district heating/cooling, steam for industrial processes, or desalinated seawater, reusable commodities such as steel, and other recyclable. Residual waste that is uneconomically or environmentally unsound to recycle becomes a valuable local source of energy feedstock. Additionally, the heat produced from a waste to energy system is designed to power steam turbines while syngas produced by the pyrolysis or gasification technology has a variety of potential uses, the most common system configuration being to burn the syngas in a boiler to generate steam.
The advanced thermal treatment of solid waste reduces the volume of waste, thereby preserving landfill space. It reduces the need to transport waste, absolving the cost and manpower involved in long-hauling waste, as well as the pollution from the environmental impact transporting waste over great distances. It allows for the recovery of energy from the solid waste stream, as well as the recovery of minerals and chemicals that can be reused or recycled. Efficient waste management strategies can benefit immensely from waste-to-energy technologies and Klean is extremely pleased to offer its customers some of the most technologically advanced systems available for applications around the globe. We are excited to be a part of the re-industrialization of our world using more sustainable energy solutions.

Klean's systems are an environmentally friendly and commercially viable alternative to traditional methods of processing waste. Klean's technology advantages are that most of our systems do not require any pre-processing of feedstock and produce high-quality carbon and oil at a lower cost than other recycling systems. They are designed to be virtually energy-self-sufficient, and many of the systems are modular and capable of being truck-mounted and transported directly to the waste resources.
What Is Pyrolysis?
Pyrolysis is the thermal degradation of waste in an oxygen-free environment or in an environment in which the oxygen content is too low for combustion or gasification to take place. Pyrolysis liquefaction is a non-combustion heat treatment that chemically decomposes waste material by applying direct or indirect heat to it in an oxygen-free environment.
Explosive population growth, improved living standards, and increased industrialization have caused a surge in global demand for land-based transportation of goods and services. Klean has completed extensive research and due diligence on over 3,000 projects and technology developments relating to this specific supply chain and its industrial carbon footprint.
The critical data underpins the findings. We have found that the infrastructure for supporting the stable supply of recovered resources for the automotive, plastic, tire, and rubber-related industries is crumbling due to poor resource management for the supply and demand for servicing the current and expanding market.
Klean's lifecycle analysis has helped us understand the intimate relationships of this supply chain and marketplace like no other company in the industry. The industry is now facing new regulatory changes, environmental concerns, and restructuring due to poor resource management and the overall escalating raw material costs. On top of these compounding conditions, the recycling technologies and treatment facilities that service these industries are outdated and insufficiently developed for current and future production volume.

We live in a plastic world. Plastics are inexpensive, lightweight, and durable materials, which can readily be molded into a variety of products that find use in a wide range of applications. As a consequence, the production of plastics has increased exponentially over the last 60 years. However, the current levels of their usage and disposal generate several environmental problems.
Approximately 8 to 10 percent of the world’s oil and gas production, a non-renewable resource, is used as feedstock for plastics and a further 3 to 4% is expended to provide energy for their manufacture. A major portion of plastic produced each year is used to make disposable items of packaging or other short-lived products that are discarded within a year of manufacture. These two observations alone indicate that our current use of plastics is not sustainable. In addition, because of the durability of the polymers involved, substantial quantities of discarded end-of-life plastics are accumulating as debris in landfills and in natural habitats worldwide.
Recycling is one of the most important actions currently available to reduce these impacts and represents one of the most dynamic areas in the plastics industry today. Recycling provides opportunities to reduce oil usage, carbon dioxide emissions, and the quantities of waste requiring disposal.
While plastics have been recycled since the 1970s, the quantities that are recycled vary geographically, according to plastic type and application. Recycling of packaging materials has seen rapid expansion in a number of countries. Advances in technologies and systems for the collection, sorting, and reprocessing of recyclable plastics are creating new opportunities for recycling, and with the combined actions of the public, industry, and governments it is possible to divert the majority of plastic waste from landfills to recycling over the coming decades.
Klean Industries has evaluated numerous technologies and techniques for effectively up-cycling plastics rather than down-cycling plastics into low-grade recyclables. Klean's findings have been substantial and a number of advanced thermal processing technologies have been identified and acquired as the way forward for reproducing virgin-based materials suitable for reintroduction into our current supply chains. Klean's plastic to oil solutions can be fed almost any petroleum-based waste plastic and will convert it into synthetic light to medium oil for less than USD$10 per barrel (excluding land, infrastructure, feedstock costs, etc.). As with crude oil, the synthetic oil can then be processed into commercial fuels or even back into plastic. Klean's groundbreaking innovations allow Klean to provide solutions that deliver the highest possible returns both financially and environmentally.

This $90m dollar facility using a Circulation Fluidized Bed Boiler (CFB) to converts biomass feedstock in a controlled manner, into heat to produce superheated steam which then drives a Siemens Steam Turbine-Generator to produce over 18 megawatts of green, CO2 neutral electricity.
Using biomass to produce electricity reduces our reliance on fossil fuels, the nation's primary energy sources for electricity, and the largest contributors to air pollution and greenhouse gases. Biomass electricity offers alternatives with many benefits:
1) Our supply of biomass is renewable, meaning it will never run out.
2) Electricity produced by biomass reduces the threat of global climate change.
3) Using biomass waste eliminates the need to place it in landfills.
4) Clearing biomass from wooded areas helps prevent forest fires.
5) Using biomass to produce electricity reduces air pollution in surrounding areas.

This system significantly reduces waste motor oils and increases engine reliability, efficiency, and engine life. Absolutely ever fleet operation should have a lubricating oil dialysis system for optimal engine health.
This system is fully computerized and completely changes and recycles your engine oil, effortlessly and efficiently. To use this system, install a hose with a coupler attached at the end and connect it to your vehicle’s engine oil drain plus. Take the hose from the dialysis system and attached the two ends. After keying in the required information into the simple control panel, your vehicle will have received the purified oil in less than 5 minutes without any oil waste or oil disposal.
The oil taken from the vehicle is replaced with purified oil from the previously purified supply tank in the dialysis system. At the same time, the original oil from the vehicle is purified as it circulates through the system. As it moves through the centrifugal sludge separator and patented purification filters, particles larger than 1 micron are removed. Once purified, it then flows into the oil supply of the dialysis system’s holding tank which is itself constantly circulating through the dialysis system, always maintaining its purity. This process is called circulation.
The oil dialysis system is based on the human kidney system. Just as blood is constantly being circulated through the human body and the impurities are removed as it passes through the kidney, so too does the lubricating oils as it circulates throughout the dialysis system.
NEVER EVER REPLACE OR CHANGED YOUR OIL AGAIN WITH VIRGIN OIL --- THIS SYSTEM REPLACES THE NEED FOR NEW OIL!
For more information on our oil dialysis technology, please feel free to contact us.

The fundamentals of tire pyrolysis simply do not make economic sense without upgrading the tire-derived char and this applies to all tire pyrolysis plants. Tyre pyrolysis on its own is 1-part of an integrated system needed to produce recovered carbon products in quality and form that the industry can use and accept.
This easy-to-use system provides an understanding of the technical and financial requirements for making a viable rCB product(s). At Klean Industries our team has been doing this commercially for decades and we can prove it.
No tire pyrolysis facility on Earth can make economic sense without a proven back-end rCB processing technology. We have completed multiple projects that are operating today, producing salable high-quality rCB products.
Klean Industries can help provide you with initial consultations, from plant engineering and equipment design, to manufacturing a custom plant to exact specifications, testing, and securing long-term customers for your rCB products on long-term contracts. We can help from start to finish to make sure you achieve the successful results you desire.

A critical part of the value proposition regarding tyre pyrolysis plants is upgrading the pyrolysis products, regardless of the pyrolysis technology used. The upcycling of the pyrolysis char product requires specialized processing know-how and key technology to achieve the desired results.
The solution to producing a consistent Recovered Carbon Black (rCB) product is directly linked to:
1) The feedstock (char) quality;
2) The technology selection and the configuration of equipment needed based on the feedstock;
3) The processing know-how needed to achieve continuous operations.
These three specific components are crucial and if any one part of these processes is not done correctly then any solution presented will not work as designed. It is this combined integration of the three steps above that makes a solution work. This process also needs operator training with qualified engineering people.

It gives us the opportunity to contribute to change towards a better, healthier and cleaner world, where we can celebrate the abundance of qualitative products.
Why have we chosen to become C2C® accredited design consultants?
Reggs has experienced that many professionals have become inspired by the C2C® way of thinking. It spark innovation and it touches identified customer needs, two major component in building brands. However, the philosophy is not always that straightforward to implement in day to day work. Designers can play an essential part in this translation, since design is the first step in showing good and human intentions. C2C® demands an integral collaboration with different parties within the value chain. With our 10 trained designers with various backgrounds such as brand strategy, concept development, product and graphic designs we can support companies in the transition towards ‘becoming good’.

There's a world of opportunity to re-think and re-design the way we make stuff. 'Re-Thinking Progress' explores how through a change in perspective we can re-design the way our economy works - designing products that can be 'made to be made again' and powering the system with renewable energy. It questions whether with creativity and innovation we can build a restorative economy.

At the heart of the MVR Technology is the proprietary Advanced Thermal Recycling (ATR) technology providing high-level emissions control and materials recovery. To control nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions, the facility combines noncatalytic and catalytic reduction to reduce the emissions on a par with a modern natural gas-fired power plant operating in southern California.
The design employs dual wet scrubbers to handle chlorine gas and sulfur oxides, converting the pollutants into high-grade commercial products. The chlorine is recovered in the first wet scrubber, which uses water to remove acid vapors. The weak acid is then sent to a separate plant within the facility to create commercial grade hydrochloric acid.
In the second scrubber, sulfur oxides are recovered via a treatment process involving lime to form gypsum for use in wallboards and other building materials. Most waste-to-energy plants remove the chlorine and sulfur oxides together in one scrubber, creating a waste stream that has no commercial value.
The ash is also recycled. Unlike conventional WTE plants, which process fly ash and bottom ash together, MVR facility to treats the ash types separately for optimum recovery and reuse. The bottom ash is processed to recover residual ferrous and nonferrous metals and glass products, which are washed and screened to create a mixture of different minerals for use as an aggregate in the production of cement or asphalt, or as structural construction fill.
The fly ash is divided into boiler fly ash and filter fly ash. The former is recycled internally and injected into the emission-control system along with activated carbon. The filter fly ash is fed into an extraction system, where the ash is treated sequentially with ammonia and acid to remove metals that can be recycled in metal foundries. The solid residue from the extraction process, including minerals from the filter fly ash and spent carbon, along with residual boiler fly ash and fine particles washed out from the bottom ash are returned to the combustion system.
