Course 1 is a special course in that it's the only course with the GERRY IS THE BEST PROGRAMMER Easter Egg. This is seemingly triggered by having been parked in the bottom-right corner for several seconds once the 80% enemy paint INSTANT FAIL! condition is triggered, forcefully setting your score to 50% and replacing the "YOU PASSED" message.

Until very recently, the speedrun strategy was to just go to the bottom right corner and wait, but I recently noticed that this results in 3 cars piling on top of each other on the northern edge. By deliberately repainting certain tiles and killing the one car that comes to the bottom-right slightly earlier, we can manipulate the other cars into much more efficient routes. This more than makes up for the time-loss caused by undoing some of the enemy's progress, resulting in a 10-frame time save over idling immediately.
