Thanks to David Cain for his work on juggling history.
Music: Library Of Ruina Theme 2 (Finger Snap Edit)
Label design and editing by me.
Qualified pancake treblas 12 years ago for the first time (not saying this counts as 3 ring pancake treblas though, but I tried). My best regular style treblas with rings is 14 catches, also from 12 years ago.
I thought for sure I had passed 1 hour when I stopped. Whoops :P
This is way longer than my 4 ball record, and about 10 minutes longer than my 4 ring record. Even though 4 clubs is perhaps objectively harder than 4 rings, I think the 4 ring run was one of the most taxing endurance runs I've done, I was kneeling on a pillow in an uncomfortably low ceiling room, and I got some pretty nasty blisters in my palms from braking the rings spin upon catching.
Did 3 clubs for over 3 hours about one month ago youtube.com/watch?v=luDVc3TEVfQ
I wanted to make myself more accustomed to juggling again, as I've been very sick for a long time.
I have made over 2 dozen unique props! Couldn't even fit them all in this video, truth to be told, I barely touched some of them yet.
Special thanks to Jay Gilligan Emil Dahl, David Cain and Erik Åberg, for providing me with feedback, support, information and even some very generous donations of props for me to harvest!
Extra credits to Michael Moschen, Greg Kennedy, Craig Quat, Michael Karas, Haavard Hvidsten and Earl Shatford for prop inspiration!
Also the name for the disinfectant which I can't remember while doing the voice-over is Chlorhexidine.
as you may be able to see, the box doesn't sit perfectly level on the stick, this is because the screws holding the steel plate that the magnet grabs onto are protruding slightly (needs more countersink). So I'm scared that the box will be too unbalanced and fall off which would suck.

FAQ (ask me stuff in comments and I'll try to answer and compile up here)
Q: Will this make my clubs unsuitable for normal juggling?
A: Not quite, using magnets of the size shown in this video will only add 14g of weight, and it is added to both nose and handle so balance is not heavily affected either. However, certain club on club balance tricks are made harder or easier depending on magnetic configuration, so if that is a big part of your juggling, I'd suggest getting a second set of clubs.

I really how they turned out, the ability to flip on a magnetic surface even when upside down is cool.
I also tried flashing sprung cascade (6x,2x)* with 4. Still not very consistent at the juggly stuff, sadface.
I like how the reflection and camera placements worked out here.
I had the idea with the paper a few months back before even seeing these things, I'm using it for "classic" juggling.
Also the reverse T shape trick I tried in the start turned out to be impossible for me after getting it in a few tries off camera (tried for 40+ minutes on camera to no avail xD )
Note to self: need to realize the gopro catches MUCH more than the regular cameras I used before.
Music is a bit too intense for the content I think.
Highlight in this is really the flat treblas IMO, even though it is incredibly unclean. I went back in my journal and read the entry for that day. It read: "Flashed 3 club flat treblas, really unclean, but it can definitely be done better."
I wanted to refilm the flat treblas for Plastic Mind, but it seems like I went for the (4x,2)* treblas with 2 as flourish instead. I guess because the flats were still proving to be very difficult.
Since it works alright already I'll see if I can make the optional features better, research is a bit lackluster atm.
and I wanted to learn to pull the triggers while juggling 3, which isn't so bad in itself, but the replicas I have are single-action, so actually shooting with these while juggling is pretty difficult.
I have been practicing guns for almost a month now.
Music is 'Village' from the Arcanum OST.
I discovered that you could trap the balls in the triangle during winter 2010-2011. I did film some super basic stuff back then too, but never edited it into a real video. This is still pretty basic, but it covers much more and I guess most people can watch this and see some branches of tricks/concepts emerging that could be further researched.
Main influences for this was Jay Gilligan, Jackson Ford and myself from 2008.
I guess this is exactly what I said I would do, go back and find stuff I never finished and finish it. I have transferred the contents of the tapes to my external HD now.
Excuses: haven't juggled all summer, making this possibly the longest break from juggling for me, also my creatinine levels are in the 450-500 range.
Every time I go through some of this old material there's always stuff that surprised me. I have to dig up some old tapes and read my juggling journal and find some really early stuff some day, and refilm them for fun and science. I've forgotten a lot of pretty neat and potentially awesome tricks from back then.
Music is the kind that we used to listen during circus practice at Kul&Bus. These are truly classic tunes :D
Follow each step and invent your own prop today!
This is a good example of a bad idea :D
No circus bikes were harmed in the making of this prop/video.
Music: the norwegian sea(arc lab mix) by last days
Object episodes forum is closed, so feel free to send me a message or write questions in the comments instead for now.
The hand shuffling club tricks at 0:42 and 2:11 are invented by Sam Youde!
There's more to come in the not too distant future.
I'm notating using Denis Paumier's bodymove notation http://juggle.wikia.com/wiki/Bodymove_notation
In the end of the video I animated a short sequence where I give the different zones a color and move around a bit to help visualize how the zones follow you around. In the notation theory the zones actually extend indefinitely, though.
These are just a few fairly straightforward body throws with clubs, which end with a neutral catch.
Many more throws which fill these criteria are possible. There are multiple styles of the same body throw as well, most obvious would be lifting your legs for all the under the legs stuff, but also throws such as the frontcross is commonly done with clubs spinning aligned to the sagittal plane instead of the frontal etc.
For reversed throws, just imagine any particular throw in reverse!
I did something which I can't remember anyone doing in the end with 3 clubs, which is to show off the different inside-outside versions of reverse backcross, backcross combo. This kind of variation can be applied to any body throw combo where the path of the props cross, mainly any body throw which is followed by a reverse of the same type, or other things, such as albert-trebla combo.
I take for granted that you already know backcrosses and know how to build up to a new pattern.
A cool orbitty pattern, pretty similar to Rubenstein's Revenge. I hope you like it!!
Feel free to make requests on tutorials, though keep in mind that I only practice club juggling and balancing combo stuff so I'll prefer to make tutorials on club tricks.
So I made a video for you people who are interested in juggling, even after hand-picking the best stuff there still was 30 minutes of material so I edited it down like crazy and discarded most of it in an attempt to make it watchable for other people. Material range from August 2011 to September 2012.
This is another snow video. It was hard getting good quality in the dark, and sorry about the white clubs vs the snow, I don't have any coloured clubs. Enjoy watching snow or something.
I was inspired by the new juggling prop spin notation posted on recdot, felt like trying siteswap 3 throws with different or similar spins... however, the fun of rolling around in snow got the better of me.
Have a Happy New Year jugglers!
Please enjoy!
Pwny asked me if I had any variations on the club stack trick last week. I had like 2 ideas, but nothing really good. So I spent this afternoon working out some nice things. And put the ones I liked the most in this video.
...I'm kinda relieved right now, because... seriously, with the effort I put in anything else would have been outright weird.
Actually 102 alberts :/
News: K-8 Juggling are about to release magnetic clubs similar to the ones I use in this video http://www.k8malabares.com.ar/store-magicjuggling-magneticclub-194
