The Utah Cultural Site Stewardship Program recently partnered with the Natural History Museum of Utah to hold a cultural site stewardship educator workshop. Utah educators were invited to learn about the UCSS Program, current stewardship efforts, and of course some fun and interactive ways to teach site stewardship in their classrooms. They also tried hands-on activities that communicate the importance of historic preservation and context within archaeology - it’s not every day educators get to grind corn or see historic artifacts in action. This great event successfully kicked off efforts to get site stewardship practices into the classroom. Thanks to the Natural History Museum @nhmu for the opportunity, and we are excited for more of these workshops in the near future!
