Unravel - Tokyo Ghoul (acoustic, piano cover) Wout12345 2020-04-19 | This is my performance of the acoustic version of Unravel (created for Tokyo Ghoul), a song composed and originally performed by TK (from Ling Tosite Sigure), then arranged for piano by TheIshter, whose arrangement was then transcribed by Bomb and Kou, which I used personally. In other words, a lot of people deserve to be acknowledged here. In any case, this is the most complex piece I've ever studied, originally for a concert last year (which took me around 9 months of on-and-off practice), but considering the amount of effort I put in then I wanted to publish a version of it online as well. Yet, I slacked off for a long time and only practised occasionally ... until a month or two ago, and since then I worked on it seriously again. Although the result is still not without mistakes, this is the best I could do after weeks of almost daily practice and hours of recording, so I've decided to settle with this. Low-level Chaos Hreidmar guide - Runescape 3 Wout12345 2017-12-26 | So yeah, this is the video I wanted to get out, hence yesterday's video. :P Just wanted to show how, using the right strategy, you can make this fight quite easy. :) One thing I thought about but forgot to address in the video is the subject of bug abuse. Normally I'd be a bit scared to use and publish something like this, however considering the odd behavior used in this method (Hreidmar becoming unaggressive when you go down the stairs, ...) has been in the game for years as far as I know and is described as a normal feature on the wiki, I'm assuming this isn't considered a "bug" and is safe to use. No hit Undyne the Undying - Undertale Wout12345 2017-07-25 | Two 1080p videos in one evening? Well, don't get used to it, in this case it's just that Undertale compresses well and that since I had to play fullscreen anyway (windowed is way too small for a precise boss fight like this), I thought it'd be better to record it at its full resolution instead of scaling and making things blurry.Anyway, the mid-boss from Undertale (genocide), Undyne the Undying, defeated without taking a single hit. I decided to start recording just after I released my previous video and on my 12th attempt (took about 55 minutes) I already got it. :) Of course, that's excluding lots of hours I've spent practicing in the past couple of months (I've played Undertale for a total of 34 hours now, according to Steam, though that also includes Sans practice, playthroughs, ...). This is not the first video of its kind on Youtube (not even the best either, Merg only uses a stick as weapon, which means he has to endure significantly more attacks, and NoHit Runs has done it at 1.5 speed FFS ...), however I still felt like making this as it proved to be a nice challenge. 2017 summer plans - Channel update Wout12345 2017-07-06 | Here it begins, the summer of 2017! Defusing Zgoohs and Pis CBUD bomb (with JeWe) - Minecraft Wout12345 2017-02-26 | Here it is, within 48 hours of the start of the challenge! :D In short, Pi and Zgooh created a bomb which is really hard to defuse, however Jewe and I (as well as some other teams by now) have done it. Some things I missed in the video: the reason I used MCP wasn't to mess with the actual functionality of the game, but to get better insight into what's exactly happening inside the code (using print statements, breakpoints, ...). In the end we didn't use it much, yet it's still worth bringing up.Furthermore, this isn't supposed to be a survival "run" of the challenge, it simply presents a survival-friendly method in a way that should be understandable. As such, I used several backups, often got the world into the right state using MCEdit, used creative, ... to make things more efficient. I also make mistakes, okay, and I don't want to spend another full day on this because of them. :PAnyway, I hope this video has some cool tricks in store for you guys! Do you ever get this weird feeling when I'm ranting about custom maps on Twitter (let's just hypothetically assume that some people read that) that I pretend to know what I'm talking about? Well, that's because of stuff like this, as back in the day I actually have worked on some moderately-sized maps (along with a couple of "normal" games too)! :D This one in particular is called "Valley of Sorrows" and was developed by me during Modjam 4, a 96-hour Minecraft modding and mapmaking competition in May 2014.Unfortunately the original idea turned out to be a lot too grandiose for the mere 13-14 hours I ended up spending on it (oh do I pity my high school self ...), so I just managed to finish the terrain and one puzzle, which qualifies as a Minecraft custom map IMO, though barely. On the positive side, due to the questionable voting system (you could only vote for a particular map in one category or something), I did receive win the "Best Aesthetics" category, which I'm still a bit happy about. :)Finally, even though I still think the map concept is good, I haven't worked in it since Modjam. A magical tale of Christmas and crash-based reliable general item duplication - Minecraft Wout12345 2016-12-31 | So, there's a bit of a story behind this one. It initially started out as a theoretical concept in early June, which I realized in practice in late June. The machine could duplicate minecart chests, though in a way which didn't make much sense from the theory I based it on. Since I wanted to keep the underlying mechanic a secret for the time being, but was too lazy to figure out what was going on, so I didn't touch the project anymore since June 25th. Then, around Christmas, I got the idea for this video (partially because I failed to make a proper Christmas video last year, since that 1.8 sand farm thingy got a little bit more complex than expected ...), which led me to dig it up again on December 25th, only to find out that somehow the machine wasn't working anymore. After a couple of days of code digging etc. I managed to fix it and now it actually works in a very logical way.However, the current version also only works in 1.8 versions of Minecraft (tested in 1.7, 1.8, 1.8.9 and 1.9). I compared the 1.8 and 1.10 code, did a bit more research for a few days and found a bit of relevant code that was changed, though the glitch should still be exploitable. Therefore, my main theory is that the technology I used isn't reliable anymore (after all, it was fine-tuned for 1.8 and was rather trial-and-error based) and once its functions can be replaced with 1.9+ compatible equivalents the same exploit should still be possible. However, since this is just a teaser rather than a showcase or explanation and the fact that I already spent 6 more days on this than I had planned, I decided to leave things like this. Maybe this paragraph provides those curious ones with enough hints to find out what I did for themselves. ;-) I'd rather keep this a secret until my big sand farm, assuming I'll finish that one day, however it's taken so long that I guess it'd be fun if people found it now anyway.Enough talk about the machine. As for the duplication: it's a crash-based, reliable method, which contrasts against the only other method I'm aware of ATM (Mango's hopper-based one, link down below), which works at random times but doesn't require crashing your client. On top of that, I managed to make it duplicate pushable blocks too. I think pushable entities should be possible too, though due to the aforementioned time-related reasons I decided not to pursue that goal for the time being. (Come to think of it, I didn't test other minecarts, but I'll be damned if this is chest-minecart-specific ... so realistically speaking everything that fits in a minecart one way or another should work.) Mirrors Edge Any% personal best [42:52.07] Wout12345 2016-11-26 | So, here we are. One of my main goals running this game was to make it into the speedrun.com top 100. This run ranks in 85th at the time of uploading. :) I'll probably still run this game every once in a while like I used to, but at this point I don't really have any clear next goal in mind. As for the run itself: not too much to say, plenty of mistakes, also some not-too-hard tricks which I considered too risky to try anyway, that kind of stuff. I mean, I'm in 85th, don't expect this to be some top-notch run, it's just me sharing what will likely be my PB for a while. ;-)Then, finally, the game crashing. I can't say this is some well-agreed upon strategy, but I decided to keep this run anyway, submit it to speedrun.com, and publish it here if it got verified, which ended up happening. Why I kept it:- This time still isn't anywhere near the best runs, so I don't feel like it matters as much.- In pausing and unpausing I still lost about 8 seconds which I would normally have had. Even though I also think it's unfair I lost those, I'm fine with "surrendering" them and calling it a day.- I published all the footage I had of the incident, not like that proves anything, though I'd hope it provides a bit more legitimacy to some.- If I were to count the time while I'm restarting everything, this run would be minutes over my previous PB and it really wouldn't be worth uploading, so that wasn't really an option either.All of that being said, I certainly do hope I can get a faster, clean run of this game not too long from now, maybe somewhere before 2017 would be nice. Symmetrical minecart stacking - Minecraft Wout12345 2016-11-25 | No human being would program like this. Or so you'd think. Don't blame Mojang this time though, this was recorded on 1.9.4-Forge. Custom-frequency and 2 other linear TNT quarries - Minecraft Wout12345 2016-09-04 | Considering how I'm constantly jumping in between versions these days, I should probably have mentioned that this duplication glitch works in 1.9/1.10, not 1.8. Also, in case you're working in a snow biome and you don't want to risk TNT getting updated by unlucky snowfall, I suggest replacing the stone behind the sticky pistons by glowstone, sea lanterns ... There's also plenty of other ways to prevent snowfall, which don't cause as much lagg due to light updates. Furthermore, I did not check the designs for orientation-dependency as usual. After all, I don't really see why you'd be so invested in the direction this machine is facing. :P However, if you need a version facing a different direction and this doesn't work, please notify me and I'll see what I can do.Anyway, hope you enjoy this video! 3-stroke vertical bidirectional engine (1.8) - Minecraft Wout12345 2016-08-14 | Today I show you a design for a 3-stroke vertical bidirectional engine. I mostly go over the stuff I discussed in my 3-stroke horizontal bidirectional engine video, so if anything is confusing you may want to check that out first. One minor thing I forgot to say in the video: due to the strange extending method, I had to give this contraption a reversion space of 1 block. Unidirectional dragon egg dropper (UDED) - Minecraft Wout12345 2016-08-07 | The main thing I forgot to mention in this video (I knew I wasn't properly explaining things): you can drop dragon eggs using a static machine as well, but after 4 layers it becomes useless and has to be moved. Boss battle - Wubly 2 Wout12345 2016-07-30 | UPDATE (Feb. 10th, 2017): I finally got an official download link, which is now linked down below! Thanks to Mia for finding it! :DWubly 2 is a free puzzle-platformer game created by Jesse Venbrux (probably somewhere around 2009), where the player needs to navigate through individual levels using a hookshot device, manipulating various gameplay mechanics to make their way past obstacles. I personally started playing the game somewhere around 2010 and completed it, except for the boss level, which is incredibly long and difficult compared to the other levels (each of which takes up exactly the size of the view). I've gotten back to this game dozens of times since then, but it wasn't until one faithful night last week that, after several hours of attempts (which I also decided to record for the first time), I successfully reached the end and in turn beat the game.As this wasn't an easy achievement and the game barely has any exposure, I decided to make a video about it. I could only find a handful of other Youtube videos covering this game, so I'm glad to contribute there. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find an official download page for the game (I also contacted the creator about this but with no response as of July 29th, 2016). A simple Google search will give you plenty of third-party downloads, however since a lot of these may contain malware, I won't be linking them. For the time being I also don't plan to re-upload my own version without the creator's permission. If you still want to play it, do so at your own risk. As for the game itself, I'd definitely recommend it, it provided me with hours of entertainment several years ago. ;-)Since I ran the game through WINE during the recording, I unfortunately didn't have any game audio, which is why I simply added some music for the sake of this video. 3-stroke horizontal bidirectional engine - Minecraft Wout12345 2016-07-24 | And it also self-returns! Well, optionally, by adding one more block to the reversing station you can make it stop too. In summary, this thing is a fair bit larger than your conventional 4-stroke horizontal bidirectional Two things I forgot to mention in this video: first of all this was made in relation to a slimestone project "commissioned" by ilmango and enemysfriend22 (not getting paid, so not sure if that's the correct terminology but I'm going with it). Secondly, a 3-stroke engine is an engine with a period of 3 piston strokes (extensions/retractions), with each piston stroke taking 3 game ticks or 0.15 seconds. Sky wars: 1 year anniversary, 1 million coins! - Minecraft Wout12345 2016-06-27 | Is it just me or does my voice sound more high-pitched than before? 16-tuple skeleton spawner explanation - Minecraft Wout12345 2016-04-02 | First thing I forgot to mention: this video just shows a valid block configuration, not how to get those blocks there without populating any of the chunks. I won't say I'm 100% sure, but if you've watched my "Remote pushing complications" video from July you'll probably understand that apart from this one chunk loading glitch (which frankly can probably happen anywhere) it should be possible to create an arbitrary block configuration, even across chunk borders, without ever loading a 2x2 chunk area.Second thing I forgot to mention: The extra dungeons are just needed in order to manipulate the other dungeons to spawn in good locations.Third thing I forgot to mention: This configuration actually contains a 17-tuple skeleton spawner cluster, but for that one you need to go a bit higher than (0, 128, 0), so I don't count it. In other words, the current records for a skeleton spawner cluster in a general and arbitrary location (and seed), are 17 and 16 spawners respectively. ;-)Well, I could put my regular description down here, but to be honest I don't really know what to talk about anymore. XD Anyway, I hope you quite like this, compared to most of my videos I put a lot of time and effort into this.
