Old World Long Distance Electrical Transmission Plant Pantson Theground 2025-04-06 | From dead center betwixt the Twin Cities, Minnesota (Minneapolis/Saint paul, we take a look at what I initially thought to be an old electrical distribution plant, but it's actually a long distance electrical transmission plant. This plant sends and receives electricity from around the greater Twin Cities metropolitan area, including the suburban and rural routes, routes throughtout the rest of the state, and international routes. The old brick building at this plant is now abandoned as they built a new operating building within the fence perimeter. Some of the equipment has been updated and there are 2 new installations. However, much of the pylon framework and most if not all of the transmission pylon towers are old world and still being used today. They are truly unique works of art.

The Bluffs Being The Star Of The Show (Pt. 2) Pantson Theground 2025-01-16 | Part 2 of the investigation. We examine more of the Henry Peter Bosse 1891 cyanograph/cyanotype collection, "Views On Upper Mississppi River" A project organized by the US Army Corps Of Engineers in Saint☆Paul, Minnesota where Mr. Bosse was employed just 4 years prior as a cartographer/topographer. This collection sat and collected dust for over 100 years until it was discovered in the 1990s and auctioned off. We seldom come across any major alterations with the photographs in this collection thereof. Add that with the fact that the collection predates the turn of the 20th century makes for a great piece of a valid evidence to add to the database of our #realstory. A 19th Century Stroll Down Electricity Lane (Pt. 1) Pantson Theground 2024-12-25 | Henry Peter Bosse: Born in Prussia in 1844, Bosse immigrated to America about 1870. Entering the service of the U.S. Corps of Engineers as a draftsman in 1874, he was chief draftsman by 1887. During his tenure he produced photographs, maps, and drawings of engineering projects along the Upper Mississippi River. Many of the photographs were printed as cyanotypes, a process that provided easy and economical proofs for study, and were later bound into albums with elaborately hand-decorated and lettered title pages. Presented to various dignitaries of the Corps of Engineers, the prints were also exhibited at the World's Columbian Exposition in 1893.
