At 1920 pulses per quarter note (PPQ), the short notes were really reeeally short, so I had to dumb down the PPQ to 960, half of that of the original. After quantizing, I found that it was still too laggy for me and the notes were too short, so I went into Cheat Engine and manually edited the value of Synthesia's notespeed to half of the minimum. When you press PgUp all the way and hit the max, the value is 250000. I changed the value to 125000, so the notes fall twice as fast (so you can see the super-dense ending notes). This is why the "We Are Number One" notes you hear before the ending smash look so fast and long. This means that the speed of scrolling in MIDITrail is based on the BPM of the MIDI. When the BPM speeds up, the speed of MIDITrail as a whole increases, and when it slows down, the speed of MIDITrail as a whole decreases. You can see some creators like Han SeRin take advantage of this by adding strategic BPM changes for theatric effect. This is in contrast to a scroll player like Piano from Above or Synthesia where the scroll speed is completely constant and the note's size is scaled relative to the BPM. What Minelolpride discovered in these "variable speed scrolling" tick-based MIDI players is that one could abuse the scrolling mechanics by making the BPM really fast for a short period of time, causing the MIDI to essentially "skip ahead". In standard scroll players, the notes become extremely dense and clustered, but in tick-based players like the one shown in this video, the entire score moves forward. Using these principles, it is possible to achieve stop motion in tick-based MIDI players under the right circumstances. This is basically a really detailed version of those "song to MIDI" videos you see online. This time I converted the colours to match those of an RGB spectrogram. Though, I pose a question to you guys. Would you rather have this colour scheme, or would you rather have a red-orange-yellow scheme? Despacito but converted to a [Black MIDI] with 4.1 million notes Gingeas 2018-05-26 | Using W2M, you can actually hear the lyrics of the Despacito music video (by Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee, not the Justin Bieber one)I am using a program made by 梦幻no人生, a member of the Chinese black MIDI community.Don't watch if you are prone to seizures . . . please.The program was written in Python and uses fast-fourier transform (FFT) in order to convert the original song into notes. It is similar to the MP3-to-MIDI conversion stuff you'd find online, but this one is much more detailed and sounds much more realistic in my opinion. The program is not public and as such I must respect the original developer's wishes by not distributing it. If you wish to download the program, ask other people who are involved in the distribution of the program (like Ryan 0201 or ooo 000) and they might give you the Discord server link to download it. Here is a picture of a portion of the MIDI loaded in Takabosoft's Domino MIDI sequencer:https://i.imgur.com/CzhPhHY.png The tracks that separate the colour of the MIDI are actually based into velocity classes, in other words AMPLITUDE. I went into Piano from Above and changed the colours to closely match that of spectrograms, and ended up with this (this also is a portion of the MIDI).https://i.imgur.com/2ylzPVi.pngPiano from Above from left-to-right goes from low notes to high notes, meanwhile a spectrogram would go top-to-bottom from high notes to low notes, so I flipped the image vertically to try and emulate spectrograms. 1st TCABS Black MIDI Contest Showcase Video | All Contestants Gingeas 2017-10-08 | The first black MIDI 'contest' of its kind - here are the contestants.Hosted by the ACCKun (SpringSnow) of the China Black Music Association, the TCABS (Technology Communication Activity of Black Scores) is the successor of the ITCBS (International Technique Competition of Black Scores), the black MIDI contest that was also hosted by the China Black Music Association. The TCABS showcased in this video supersedes the previous ITCBS system by abandoning the notion of judging and ranking of entries - every entry in this video is in no particular order.Other than that, everything is the same with this contest - there were two pieces of music in the contest - though contestants really only blackened the first one (as shown in the video). It was around summer when I would play Ocarina of Time on my 3DS in grade 8 - I was wondering how high school would be and if it would be difficult or not. Kind of uncanny how I'm going back to Ocarina of Time again right before I enter a new school again! :)This MIDI starts off relatively piano-like with discernible portions of the melody out in the open. The SoundFont emphasizes every part of the beginning quite well. The MIDI then quickly transitions into a medley of harmonic portions that eventually lead back to the percussive style we all know and love.
